Bis — Restaurant in Montreux

The food is great with very good prices but the service is extremely low. I've been 3 times there and there is always a similar situation with this Saturday: Everything was tasty and nicely decorated. But it's pretty obvious that this restaurant needs more people so that they take orders faster. We ordered our food one hour after our arrival even though we didn't ask for something to drink so we made pretty clear that we want our meal. After we ate our main dish our dirty dishes stayed there for at least 30 minutes. After someone took our dessert/coffee order 3 times (asking again every 10-15 min) and after we received 2 of the 3 coffees since the other one was forgotten once again. I was trying to find someone to tell it for at least 15 minutes. The manager there, was really good at his job and was trying to do everything from recommending us things, to do bookings and taking dirty plates from around the place so that he helps the rest, but it was still not enough because as I said before they need more people to work. It was actually an image that was making it difficult for us to eat and relax since we were feeling stressed with watching (almost) everyone running and trying to do as many chores as possible. The restaurant had a magician if someone wanted to be amused. He was really kind and funny. Some people just make you realize how much they like their job with how happily they do it. We enjoyed it! But still it seemed weird to us how they had hired someone for this job and not also 1-2 more people for taking faster orders and preparing the tables at least for...

We have been there for dinner without a reservation and the owners were kind enough to find us a table. We have been impressed by the offers in the menu. The host also surprised all the tables by detailing describing the main options in the menu with a teatrical applombe, very nice idea. The service has been prompt and nice. The guys know how to make feeling comfortable their guests.

Food wise we started for the suggested foie gras, just delicious. We follow up with a asparagus and shrimps risotto, with feta cheese, and a lamb fillet with mashed artichokes. Both servings were generous and super tasty. We had to compliment the chef for all we had. Finally, two coffee and an home made apricots sorbetto were followed up by an offered limoncello. The wine list is well served, tho I went just for a glass of a local bio red wine.

We went to the restaurant based on the menu we saw online. To our disappointment the online menu wasn’t accurate compared to the menu they offered us in person. We were greeted by a very nice young man that was very nice and helpful. Our group spoke mainly spanish and the young man brought out a Spanish speaking waiter (Peruvian) . The Peruvian waiter and the younger man told us that they would be able to accommodate us even if the food wasn’t on the menu. They didn’t disappoint. Three people from our group ordered from the menu. My wife and I ordered custom dishes and they were able to make it for us.
