The hours of operation state they close at 10PM. Walked in at 9:30PM and they told us they could not seat us and we could only order take out. If you don't want to allow people to walk in to your restaurant by a specific time then simply change the hours of operation.
Ordered chicken biryani. I am an Indian and traveled to many places in the world. Trust me I have had my fair share of biryanis. Biryani is a staple food and theirs was less than mediocre. Don't know why they mixed in uncooked raw golden raisins and cashews in the biryani--I mean I did not order an afghani kabuli pulao.
Ordered 2 cups chai. They charged me 6 franks each cup. My spouse specifically asked if it was too late to order chai. They responded no it's not too late. I specifically asked the gentleman would he be able to make fresh chai. He responded yes of course. I wait just to be handed a warm cup of milk. No chai flavor or color. Come on man you can fool a white person but how are you going to try and fool a desi?!? I asked him if he could remake it. Waited around again. And the chai cups were handed to me half full. When asked why, he said "oh it may be because of the amount of chai we had made earlier for the other customer and only this much was left." Sooo the chai was not fresh??
Again just do honest work. If you cant provide good service or good quality then dont do it. Just say no sorry I cannot make chai. Dont give subpar service or food. And on top of that charge 6 franks each!! Its the one damn job you have. We all have jobs or a service that we provide. Just do your job right or just quit, leave, move on in your life. Karma is real. You cut corners for others, life will find its way to cut corners for you.
It's not about the money. If I didn't have money I wouldn't be out here trying to dine out and travel Switzerland. Just want what I pay for and people to be honest and people to do work that is of quality...

As someone of Indian origin living in Dubai — a city where we’re spoiled with top-notch Indian food at every price point — I walked into Golden India with reasonable expectations. What I didn’t expect was a menu priced like it had flown in from Zurich First Class and seasoned by Swiss inflation.
We ordered the vegetarian biryani for Fr. 28.50, which turned out to be a modest portion of rice with a few vegetables scattered around like a garnish, not a main ingredient. Alongside that, the palak paneer, again about Fr. 28.50, arrived in a dish so small I thought it was part of the cutlery set.
Now, to be clear — the food wasn’t bad. It was fine. Simple. Serviceable. But for nearly 60 francs between two vegetarian dishes, you’d expect fireworks, flavor parades, maybe even a tabla solo.
What makes it more confusing is the Tandoori Grill right next door. You can literally smell the spices and see generous plates coming out — at noticeably better prices. It’s like paying to watch a movie in 240p while your neighbor is getting 4K IMAX for less.
In Dubai, this kind of pricing would be laughed off the menu — and probably fixed by lunchtime. But here, at Golden India, it feels like you’re paying for the idea of India, not the food.
If you’re hungry and have a craving for Indian cuisine, do yourself a favor: walk next door. Your taste buds and your wallet will...
Read moreI am giving this place three stars because the food itself was relatively decent. However, the service experience was disappointing. We were traveling from America and felt misled when the chai was served in what was essentially half a cup - possibly less - yet charged at 6 francs, which is unreasonable. On top of that, our mango lassi never arrived.
When we visited (September 29 at 9:30pm), both staff members seemed visibly tired and disengaged, almost as if they just wanted to go home. This left us with the impression that customer care was not a priority.
To the owner: please consider retraining your staff and putting a standard protocol in place so that portion sizes are consistent and service is delivered professionally, which includes ensuring we have all of the items we had ordered and paid for. This would make a big difference in...
