A disappointing evening. Reserved a table for two for Valentine's Day, was informed upon booking that it was a set menu at 79 CHF per person. That seemed OK... When we arrived the waiter asked what we'd like to drink. When the drinks arrived I asked what the set menu was as we hadn't been told or given a menu, "it's a surprise!" replied the waiter. She then explained that it was a soup followed by tempura and salad. When a chef wants to surprise his guests in this day and age he might check if there are any dietary requirements or allergies, at Huit not at all, quite the opposite, the menu is set and that's the end of it. The main course was a sushi platter and a dessert platter to finish. The restaurant staff didn't ask how our meal was and so they can kindly read it here : The seafood soup was relatively tasteless, the tempura (deep fried veg in batter) was even less tasty than the soup. The sushi platter was nice, some delicious salmon and tuna sashimi etc. There was also some slices of seared beef which were very good, just seemed a bit strange to have that on a sushi platter. The dessert platter looked nice (a mixture of exotic fruit, fondant au chocolat and raspberry sorbet). The restaurant made the effort to take a romantic polaroid picture of each couple which was amusing. For the price this set meal really didn't feel like very good value given the mediocrity and disappointment of the starters. After reading several positive reviews on the Huit, I would suggest that in the future Huit sticks to what it does best and...
Read moreI passed by the place many times but I have never stopped before to try. Finally today I said to myself, I will stop and try 😬 and I made the best decision for today’s afternoon! The service was good, polite, proper, friendly, the food unbelievably sooooo good!! I tried the Gyoza 🥟 i love it the way that it’s not so crispy/cooked, like how Gyoza supposed to be cooked ; I didn’t check that the Gyoza comes in 10 pieces LOL so good luck my tummy! I also ordered the Brochettes de Calamars, I am not a big Fan of Squid but the brochettes are so nice! The Temakis ( handroll ) are huge, the portions are generous and the spicy mayo dressing ( sorry if I am wrong ) is truly spicy. I am half Asian I can handle chili .. this spicy choices I ordered were truly spicy. But I LOVE IT !! For Drinks.. there are tons of varieties, they have home made Ice tea as well, for the Swiss people, Aperol and Hugo are available 😝 for me, the Sake Chaud and Demi bouittle de Laurent Perrier / Veuve Cliquot are there waiting for me 😝 I said next time after the Autumn Vacances finished, I will introduce my son here :)) thank you very much for today, I had a very good lunch, my chauffeur also had a good lunch emporter, he could barely drive...
