Segelhaus St. Moritz — Restaurant in Sankt Moritz

We had dinner here a few days ago. The location is fantastic — right on the lake with a great atmosphere. The service was friendly, and the burgers were simple but hit the spot. I had the aubergine dish, which was tasty but according to me slightly small for a main. I ended up ordering a side — not a big deal.

Everyone at our table ordered food and drinks. The waitress also asked if we’d like some water, and we said yes — we even said: "Tap water would be great.". So we were pretty surprised to see CHF 8 tacked on for a jug. When we questioned it, the explanation was that "St. Moritz is a resort" and that “many guests, especially Italians,” don’t order much and all want free water. I understand that not consuming much can be an issue, but we all had food and drinks.

Had a wonderful experience here. When I went it was extremely crowded and busy but the staff were moving so fast and efficiently and really nailed the service. They never got frustrated or overwhelmed and kept everything running so smoothly.

The menu is broad and the food was great and had a surprisingly good price for the location right on the lake. The atmosphere was cozy and the drinks were good.

I highly recommend this place!

My only suggestion is to consider banning dogs inside (at least during busy times). The dining room was much too crowded to have animals laying in the walkways and half the time they were barking or whining or knocking things over. Wow. I don’t think I have ever met waiters more rude than these and I have travelled a fair deal. Terrible service, zero professionalism, zero attention. Just the worst place in the most beautiful of spots, what a pitty. We just had ice cream, drinks and coffee.
