Malai Thai Bistro — Restaurant in Winterthur

I recently had the opportunity to dine at Thai Bistro , and my experience was a bit of a mixed bag.

Let's start with the positives. The food at Thai Bistro was undoubtedly the highlight of the meal. The flavors were authentic and delicious, capturing the essence of Thai cuisine. From the aromatic curries to the flavorful stir-fries, each dish was a delightful journey for the taste buds.

The service, while not outstanding, was acceptable. The staff seemed friendly enough, and our orders were taken promptly. While there were no major issues, there was room for improvement in terms of attentiveness and checking on guests throughout the meal.

Located conveniently near the Winterthur train station (with parking available at Parkhaus Winterthur), Thai Bistro offers a genuine taste of Thai cuisine. The portion sizes were quite generous, typical of a Thai restaurant, and the prices were surprisingly affordable, especially when considering Zürich standards.

However, the dining experience left some room for improvement. I noticed the hygiene could be better. But the most significant drawback was the lack of air conditioning during the summer months. The interior became uncomfortably warm, to the extent that it detracted from our overall enjoyment of the meal. Large sitting area inside for big group. Menu mainly in non-english but has picture, which is helpful. Self-serve for beverage ( get from the fridge ) Clean and fast service despite it was busy. About 3-4 mins walk, there is a parking at the train station. Food was really good, like what we had in Thailand. The staff was kind enough to advise us that the portion is big so we don't have to over ordering it - since that was our last day in...
