If it wasn't for the price, it would be a 4 star. It's silly expensive in my opinion when you factor in the idea you are cooking your own meal. Got the fillet (mid sized I think) and 2 beers with dinner and I'm fairly sure it was well over $100 by the time I was done. The whole "hot stone, hot cast iron, hot salt, hot whatever" cook it yourself at the table procedure is odd as the cooking surface inevitably cools down and cools down faster as you cook on it. The heat in the stone is transferred to the meat and by the time you are done with the meal, it's not exactly at searing proteins temperature anymore. I ate here because I was a guest at the hotel for a business trip and didn't feel like randomly wandering about town trying to find a place for dinner after a long day at a vendor's site. Was the food good? Yeah, I suppose. The potatoes were OK at best. The steak was quite good, but again, it was $70ish so it had better be awesome. I have been to several steakhouses where that sort of money will buy you a very nice meal and not a chunk of meat to cook yourself on an ever...
Read moreWhat's not to like? I had a great experience on a rainy weeknight while staying in the attached hotel. Tables set with crystal wine glasses. Lively music. Dark upholstered wooden chairs creating an elegant atmosphere. Attentive service, prompt and courteous. The english menu lists a rumpsteak burger that was not on the german menu. I ordered mine cooked medium. It came out medium rare, but this made it all the more tender. Bbq sauce had the perfect touch of sweetness. Fresh red leaf lettuce and tomato. Tasty bun. I also ordered a merlot and was pleased to learn that it was from Argentina. It was a perfect wine for a steak burger. The waiter brought out sliced bread with four sauces! The spicy tomato was my favorite but they were all very good. Terrace seating outdoors, nice dark tables farther back for a romantic dinner, and generous seating in the entire restaurant. It is expensive even by Swiss standards but I will definitely return for special occasions and with a reservation for a nice...
Read moreI never write reviews, but this was without exaggeration, the best steakhouse I've ever been to, and the best restaurant I've visited in a good while. Staff is super friendly and patient, portions are extremely generous, and the selection of dishes makes you want to come back to try something new. The price is average for a steakhouse (around €40-60 for a meal without desert), but you are getting an experience similar to restaurants with a price range many times over this one. Will make sure to come back next time I visit...
