Truly a gem.
I’ve been there a million times and every time I try something new on the menu, I am pleasantly surprised. I’m bringing many of my friends and family and everyone agrees: the food is exceptional. Also Malaysian food is really underrated and is quite original to discover. Met some Malaysians coming there confirming my perception that the food is authentic (can be a bit on the spicy side, which from my point of view is really a blessing, you can also find many amazing non-spicy things to eat if that’s not your thing). Never been disappointed. I keep wanting to come back to try more of the menu. The family that runs the restaurant is also extremely friendly, funny and sweet. The prices are on top of that very reasonable by Zurich standards.
I would recommend to anyone to go while it’s still possible to get a table and before this place becomes too popular.
This is the first review I’ve ever given. This place really deserves it. And the family that runs it!
Simply my favorite...
Read moreAn Asian family ran restaurant, service was warm and friendly, we ordered their 滑蛋河粉 Wah Dan Hor and it was tasty, but the taste wasn't as super authentic, but given the fact that it may be hard to find certain ingredients to replicate the taste back in Malaysia/Singapore, this is great effort. As for their 炒粿條 Char Koey Teow, we were thinking that it would be along the line of Penang's savory version or the Singapore's sweet version but it turned up neither - it's more of a 乾炒河粉, regardless it's tasty. They also provided Sambal Chilli and Pickled Green Chilli - another great effort, though their Sambal chilli lacks the umami from the dried shrimp with is obviously omitted possibly to cater to vegan diners, which is quite a letdown. Female boss was very sweet to offer us an orange at the end of our meal knowing we are on holidays and wants us top up on our...
Read moreIf you like Malaysian food, you should definitely give this restaurant a try! We tried the egg starter, roti canai, crispy duck and kang kung (water spinach). Egg starter: slightly spicy, a bit sweet, very savory and VERY delicious - 9/10 Roti canai: satisfyingly crispy. Curry was not too strong in flavor but rich and creamy to pair with the roti. Not the best roti canai ever but for Zurich it's a solid - 8/10 Crispy duck: extremely tender and flavorful, came with vegetables and rice with a fried egg. The only complaint was that the skin wasn't actually crispy but I wouldn't have even mentioned it if this weren't in the dish name :) - 9/10 Kang kung: I'm biased because I love this vegetable. It was a great balance of savory from the shrimp paste and slightly spicy from the chilis. - 10/10
