Be careful ! It is not authentic Greek souvlaki! They don't have the typical Tzatziki but they put mustard and an white sauce which was not Tzatziki.
I was disappointed, because I went with my children and bought souvlakia for them, and I said in Greek "with everything without oignons", even if the server understood that it was for the children, he did not warn me that they put mustard in it. When I kindly told them that it would be nice to warn the other Greek families, they say "no", that they won't warn the other families because they don't say what it is inside. It is written on the menu. Which is true.
He explained to me that they make a mixture between Thessaloniki and Athens recipes. Apparently in Thessaloniki, the souvlakia are with ketchup and mustard. In Athens, they are with Tzatziki. So they make mustard and Tzatziki. However, the white sauce they had was not the Tzatziki.
Therefore, as Greek, I won't recommend this restaurant to any of my friends and colleagues. I will even tell them not to go there.
I will instead recommend "oh my Greek!" or the...
Read moreI'm Greek but I'll try to be unbiased (hence 4 stars and not 5). The place is pleasant with radio playing on the background. The music isn't necessarily traditional Greek, which for me is a big plus because every Greek restaurant has Greek music to the point where it's obnoxious. The staff was friendly but I can't tell you how good their German/English is. I assume it's just fine though. My friend and I both ordered a Pita gyros which came really fast and tasted authentic. I don't know which of the products they import but for those 20 mins I spent the I felt like I was in Greece. They also have Greek carbonated orange and lemon juices which my mother really enjoyed seeing. Also it seems to be a hub for Greeks as (I think) more than 50% of the customers the were speaking Greek.
Overall: if you want some nice Greek food without going to a fancy taverna, definitely...
Read moreI’m a traveler that only knows English. I personally thought the food was pretty good for what it was. I got the impression they wanted me to leave immediately though. I ordered a beer and everything was in a bag. The body language to me was they wanted me gone. I think there is a “slight” possibility I’m misunderstanding cultural differences or some form of miscommunication happened, but no other place I went to that happened. I would give it a “1”, because I found it pretty off putting, if it weren’t for that possibility and the food was decent. I get dealing with only English is annoying. I just found it disappointing that I didn’t feel comfortable chilling at the restaurant and...
