GLOBUS | Zürich Bellevue Gastronomie — Restaurant in Zurich

What an absolute disappointing reopening. Previously, everyone could get their cuisine of choice and sit together - now you need to choose a restaurant.

My partner suggested to try the kaiten-sushi. I, as a Japanese, was skeptical but thought why not. First of all, they had Korean chopsticks. At least get the chopsticks right. (Japanese, Korean and Chinese chopsticks are all different) We had 1 Prosecco, 1 diet coke, 11 plates (3 , 6 *, 1 * and 1 **) which totaled CHF161.50 before tip! Of course I don’t expect it to be 100% authentic but at this price point, it should be at least decent - it was far from it. Rice was dry and crumbling, some of the sashimi looked very unfresh, and I had to try a certain sushi as it looked so crazy. Still don’t know what the leafy stuff inside was but with zero fish but fried garlic on top, this was either the 3 or 4 star plate - CHF14-16! The waiter was friendly - that was the only good thing. Never going back.

Went to a cake cafe in the same Globus after dinner. A cheesecake, an Apfelstrudel, a pumpkin latte and cappuccino = CHF46.50 before tip. The sweets were nice, but both our drinks were so watery, it hardly tasted like coffee.

Outrageous prices for what is offered. The Gastronomy floor before renovation was 100% better. Even the sushi counter was decent....

2 weeks ago I went to Globus Bellevue especially to buy one of the iconic wooden Vitra Dolls for my husband's birthday (I checked in internet that in Globus Bellevue there is exact doll I wanted to give him). It wasn't on the exhibition of the store, but I asked the seller if there is this exact one anywhere and they (lady and new shop assistant) brought it from shops back room. I only checked fast if inside is the original doll I wanted (on the box of vitra there is always a picture of the doll you buy) and I let the lady to pack it as gift. And guess what... My husband unpacked the gift and THERE WAS NO DOLL IN THE WOODEN BOX. We checked it 10000x times. It is extremely embarrassing. And yes there was supposed to be doll inside the wooden box from Vitra. Seriously, should we all check the boxes and unpack them to be sure if there is the real gift we bought for 124 CHF? Should I be this annoying customer in GLOBUS? SEEMS YES. I have never experienced such embarrassment. This is a pure joke. And of course I can't even reach the...

Calm atmoshere. Everybody extremly nice and competent. The food department ist absolutely fabulous! Vegetables are not presented in a load but just a taste; what you want gets collected from behind the scene. The butcher is most willing to help with the selection of pieces and advice for making the best out of the best quality cuts. I had a question concerning sous vide cooking and got a wealth of good tips. The choice is increadible! Be it for Teas and coffee, home made pasta, the breads and cheeses, not to forget the wine department. And there are no turned off faces but relaxed and friendly staff througout. You feel that they are treated with respect, good salarys and trust and appreciation by employer and customers. A place to feel good and...
