Hermanseck — Restaurant in Zurich

I LOVE this place! wasn’t just the typical dishes you usually find; it’s creative fusion mixed with homie comfort food.

I came across this hidden gem “Hermanseck” by a friend’s recommendation to try out their exclusive 5-course menu “Wild in 5 Akten,” and OH BOY, this menu was mouthwatering and incredibly delicious on every plate! Unique in its own flavours, textures, and composition, I can’t decide which dish I loved the most, but I guess it’s going to be the game dumplings. Everywhere you can get dumplings, but not like these... flavours well balanced, tender game meat not overpowering, sitting in a delicious smooth broth. Paired with a charming, warm, and very attentive service in a unique vintage atmosphere, where everyone is greeted with open arms and a big smile. I will come back for more and can’t thank enough the Hermanseck team for this incredible evening!!!

We went here with a group of 7 friends for dinner on a Saturday. We had reserved the table in advance. Unfortunately the restaurant did not live up to our expectations and we were quite disappointed. The quality of the food was a mix, the meat was really good while the side dishes such as Spätzle or Marroni were really dry and you had to soak them in sauce to eat. The worst part though was the service who forgot orders, did not know what glass to use to serve things like Martini Bianco and when serving wine did everything wrong (touching the glass, serving wine like beer). Additionally, the price for a vegetarian main was around 35chf which is more on the upper level which would be fine if the service would perform. However we would not recommend going if you expect something special. There are so many great restaurants in Zurich but this one is unfortunately...

Great restaurant for a quick lunch - they have 3 weekly lunch menus veg/ meat/ fish(18.50-28 CHF incl salad or soup) and are conveniently located next to Wiedikon station. Very traditional Swiss restaurant with good service. Worth a try! Convenient location, great service and good food. Last time I tried the vegi menu (halloumi and cous cous) - it wasn’t (as light) as I had expected, wouls give it a 7/10.
