Restaurant Bahnhof Wiedikon — Restaurant in Zurich

We were initially drawn to Bahnhof Wiedikon by its charming location in the heart of Wiedikon, and seeing several people sitting inside, we decided to give it a try despite the many negative reviews about bad service and tasteless food. Sadly, those reviews were absolutely right. I honestly cannot find any reason to visit this place.

The food was incredibly bland. I ordered a burger, which came with dry meat, made even worse by the Heinz ketchup and a cheap bun. It felt like no care was put into the dish at all, you could follow any random recipe online and make something far tastier. The veal Zurich style was equally disappointing: a small portion of meat with a bland flavor.

The service was just as bad. We felt completely unwelcome, as if the waitress would have preferred not seeing any customers that day.

While the interior does have a certain authentic charm and could provide a decent place to escape the rain, that’s about the only positive thing I can say. Everything...

Me and 3 others asked for one fondue and got 1 fondue and a little bread and also asked for a glass of water but got a bottle with 1L, later we prepped for the bill and got asked to pay 26.50 per person for the little fondue and bread+water we got, and we said there must have been a misunderstanding because we asked for 1fondue and water and not 4 but still had to pay for 4 even tho we got food for 1 person and the boss was rude towards us and the staff was not nice, and we ended up having to pay 106 for the little fondue and bread we got plus 12.50 for 1l of water. We arrived to grab a bite to eat and the waitress was immediately snippy. Offering up a sarcastic and unwelcoming greeting upon our arrival. We should have left right then. I’m honestly not sure why we didn’t. The inside is a bit drab and in need of a remodel. We ordered the schnitzel and it was good.
