I’d like to start by saying that I travel for a living. I am out and about 20-25 days out the month. Zurich was one of the few places I hadn’t been. First place we stopped at to grab a bite was Louis. The waitress that welcomed us was nice until I asked if they offered breakfast. For some reason, that bothered her. Once she said no, We decided to stay anyways but her expression remained super serious fora reason I never got. We were assigned a waiter with a “peculiar” sense of humor that said NO to all our requests and later he’d bring what we asked. After a while we got the “joke” and went with it. He also seemed a bit uncomfortable when I asked what came on the “fried perch“ salad. He responded in German all the ingredients and said in an annoyed tone, “I don’t know how to say this in English. I felt as if Inshould apologize for not learning the pertinent culinary terms in German before visiting. We ordered a few dishes… the fries were delicious, so was the onion soup and the bread. The fried perch was pretty terrible. I thought I was going to get a fried fish fillet and what came on the plate was a few pieces of frozen fish nuggets that I ate because I was starving. The dressing on the salad was extreme to my taste and also unexpected. All this ok but what really blew my mind was that , for the first time in my 30+ years of travel around the world, I was charged $6.36 for TAB WATER… Yes, straight from the faucet… TAB water. When I asked the waiter he said “there’s nothing free in Switzerland”. Since it was my first time in Zurich, I accepted his affirmation as fact (appalled but… when in Rome….). Every restaurant we went to afterwards, including our dinner at one of Zurich’s Michelin star locations, offered any amount of tab water we asked for at no cost, as it is in the rest of my known world. My business is SERVICE. Hence this review to a “service” oriented business that I believe should work harder on making consumers feel a bit more welcomed. "Water links us to our neighbor in a way more profound and complex than any other." -John Thorson Hope you start to offer our common link very soon with the profound kindness it comes to you. After all, we, your clients, make you (or not). I believe a free glass of tab water and a smile is a small thank you to...
Read moreMy family and I went to have dinner on 08.12.2024. When we arrived at the restaurant, we started ordering because we were hungry. The service (Lady) came to take our order without writing down what my husband had ordered. Suddenly, we received the food, but it was not correct. We ordered 1 time Moules Café the Paris and 1 time Entrecôte Café the Paris. my husband told her that he had ordered one Entrecôte de Paris and only one Moules. But she denied that my husband had ordered 2 times Moules and even complained him that it was not his fault. Being very hungry, he accepted without change. After we finished eating, we finished paying bill and walked to the door. Suddenly she stopped us in the middle of the road and told us that she had not charged for the red wine and asked to see my bill again. Apparently, she had already calculated everything on the bill already. We were not happy, we were not enjoy since the beginning until the end. Because of he bad service was destroyed our the our Dinner. We felt so sad afterwards. Why this expensive restaurant have such as bad service like this. I can’t imagine. She didn’t even come to ask if we need more red wine or not. I just let you know if she say sorry and accept her fault, we might be enjoy our food as well, even though was...
Read moreThe food was good, but the service was really rude. I have to say this is not true for all of them as the first lady (blonde) we talked to was really nice and welcoming, but then the one who was serving us was really awful (tall dark hair lady). When she saw we were not locals, she started being quite aggressive and impolite. She kept talking to us in German even though she saw we could not understand, she looked angry when we hadn’t chosen our order after being seated for literally 5min. To serve us the wine she almost pushed my partner. She took out the plates before we were done eating. When she cleaned the table, she just said “remove your phone” with a very aggressive and directive tone, I think if she could she would have slapped me. At the end of the meal we didn’t want to tip because of the bad experience, but she imposed that we had to tip 10% (she mentioned it was mandatory), first time I heard that in Switzerland. Of course she did not say thank you nor good bye. So this review is more for the manager than for other visitors, you have to do something to improve the experience for tourists. Especially for a French institution. As a Parisian, I can guarantee that even Parisian service is better, although famous for...
