Santa Lucia Niederdorf — Restaurant in Zurich

One of the worst customer service experiences ever. I visited with two colleagues and none of us got good food. We each ordered a different type of pizza. All were slightly burnt. Mine was supposed to be Margahrita (cheese and basil) I got literally one tiny basil leaf in the center. The waiter was rude and dismissive. I asked for more and was given a few more leaves. You'd have thought Basil was a rare spice. Nothing, including silverware and plates (also olive oil, pepper, bread, napkins) was provided without expressly asking for it, and then given grudgingly with attitude. The worst was the arrival of the check. We asked if gratuity was included upon which the waiter said, (without answering the question) that he had neglected to charge us for the wine. We had each ordered a glass of house red when we first arrived. The waiter suggested that we get the bottle because it would be cheaper. We were given a small carafe that we each got a one moderate glass from and charged 37 francs for it on our "corrected" bill. I find it difficult to believe that an individual glass of house red costs 12 francs, but even if it did, the point of ordering the bottle was to get it "cheaper". I go to Zurich often on business. I'd never been to this particular place before. I won't be recommending...

While the food was good , I and my friends went to Santa Lucia the other night and had a terrible experience with a person who took our order. I wanted to order a fungi pizza, and said the same to him. I am not sure whether it was my accent or pronounciation of 'fungi' or the fact that I am a woman of colour (Indian), this waiter apparently tried to correct my pronounciation and laughed heartily for a good 30 seconds before talking my order. I was extremely embarrassed and shaken. I checked on google later and found out my pronounciation was correct. I am sorry to say but this kind of behavior with guests (irrespective of their race, ethnicity, caste, creed and religion) is extremely hurtful. I don't pay in this place to receive hurtful derisive laughter or improve my pronounciation skills. (Even if the pronounciation had been wrong, I would feel it would still be disrespectful to correct the person and laugh...

Good morning We were with you at the beginning of April. We sat outside at the highest table on the terrace. I noticed that the table and the bench were high off the floor. When we finished the long one, I wanted to go to the bathroom and got off the table. At that moment, my foot slipped, I fell and rolled down. It was pretty scary. Luckily, the fall ended with only scratches on my joint and a hit on my knee. I got up, went to the bathroom, and returned to the table. None of the restaurant employees approached me, asked how I was feeling, or brought out a glass of water.
