Santa Lucia Limmatplatz — Restaurant in Zurich

A few months ago I wrote: The classic, kids love it, good atmosphere.

But the last 2 times we’ve been it was not good. Friday 23.8 there was a guy who seemed in charge saying “reservation” a lot, refusing people to sit where they wanted and majestically pointing them to other tables although the place was half empty and there was no Reserved sign on any table. We finally got the green light to sit where we always sat but he made sure we get the message that it was a grace gesture to allow us to.

And today Sunday 25.8 it was really bad. We made the polite mistake to ask if we could sit at a particular one of the 4 empty tables outside and were told no, those 3 are reserved, only the last one furthest to everything was free for us. Which was a lie because there was no Reserved sign on any and we saw how 3 other sets of people just came and sat down and we heard 2 of them talking, they had absolutely no reservation. Then the service was very poor, our water never came (but was put on the final bill so I had to ask to take it out), our cheese never came and after waiting 30 minutes to be asked what kind of ice cream the kids wanted (was included fee in the menu) I just went up front to the register and said I need to pay, forget the ice cream, kids needed to bathe as they have school tomorrow. To be fair, the whole restaurant was waited by 2 waitresses and there were more than 60 customers at the tables. Still, I don’t know when we go there again....

I would like to express my deep disappointment with the service my family and I received during our recent visit. Unfortunately, we encountered an older waitress with red glasses who provided us with the worst treatment we have ever experienced.

From the moment we began asking questions about the menu, she was incredibly rude and dismissive. We inquired about non-alcoholic drinks, but she never provided us with the options. What was especially upsetting was her behavior toward my 9-year-old daughter, who simply asked about the drink menu. The way she treated my daughter was shockingly rude and completely unacceptable.

It's disheartening to receive such poor service, and I hope steps will be taken to ensure that no one else has to endure such...

As soon as I arrived, the blonde lady, probably the manager, wasn't very kind. I wanted a table outside, but she told us we would have to sit inside, even though four tables outside were empty and not reserved. She wasn't even kind in recommending the wine, luckily I decided by myself which wine to order, because she didn't even know the kind of grapes. Given the situation we didn't even order food, and we only ordered the wine and then left. I was very curious to try the cuisine of this restaurant, but after being treated in this way, I think I will never try it, even though there are other Santa Lucia restaurants in Zurich. I have to say that the other waiters were very kind, but I put only one star because of the treatment that...
