I recently found myself wanting a hot chocolate and I happened to be around the corner from this Tidbits. I have been going to Hiltl and tidbits for two decades so I was excited to try out another of their locations. Alas, it was a disappointment. On the menu it stated very clearly that they use oat milk as a default in their hot chocolate. In German: "mit Haferdrink als Standard". Great! I went ahead and ordered a hot chocolate. Later, I noticed that it had a funky, weird taste. Unfortunately, I was already almost half through my glass when I noticed because I had been deep in a conversation. I thought that perhaps the chocolate itself had some dairy and I kicked myself for not thinking to check on that. So I went inside and asked the woman who had served me if the chocolate had dairy. She looked surprised and said "No, the chocolate doesn't, but I made your drink with cow's milk since you didn't specify what milk you wanted." Does this lady not understand what "as a default/standard" means? Why did she decide that she should give cow's milk to customers instead of what is listed on the menu? It seems that tidbits needs to spend a bit more time training their staff. I hadn't had dairy in years.... suffice it to say that my stomach wasn't happy that evening (and neither was my wallet, because it doesn't want to support animal cruelty).

I am not vegetarian and enjoyed this place. The food was diverse and chouce plentiful. It was easy to discover what you wanted easy to pay, great to ensure there is no wasye as you oay for the weight of your food. The decision around your beverage was easy as it was done after you choose your meal so you can easily pair the wine with the meal choice. The staff were great, pleasant, and attentive to the customers. I saw one helping an older couple with their plates from their seats. It was above and beyond and just showed the fabulous service they give. The area was clean the tables basic but there were plenty of seats to choose where to sit. I enjoyed this. The food was great, I didn't really have a full choice for the sweets (desserts) but apart from that I couldn't fault it. It was good.

Tibits always serves delicious vegetarian and vegan food. The buffet offers a variety of items that change and some stay the same - like potatoes or samosas or fresh veggies. There's also a wide variety of fun sauces/dips. It's a great option because you can always pile your plate high or just get a taste of something. The price is by weight. They also offer really yummy desserts - also buffet style, though there are a few options by the slice. The people working here are really friendly. During lunch it can be very busy, but seats usually free up after a few minutes.

The food is really great, fresh and tasty. There are many dishes which you can choose from, including different types of desserts. It works like this: you take a plate from a pile and then go to the buffet, and basically you put in your plate any dish you like. You can do quite interesting mixes. After you are done, you can go to the cashier and pay your dish by weight. I'd recommend to order the mango lassi: it's delicious! The atmosphere is informal and relaxed, and it's a good place to go to enjoy a quick but healthy lunch or dinner. The only thing I do not like (that's why I did not give 5 stars) is the service: once you have selected your dishes and are ready to pay, you have to cue. You stand in the line and each waiter/waitresses does everything: they wait your plate, they prepare you the mango lassi or drink, etc. and, if you are there just for a coffee and cake, they prepare you coffee or tea. The result is that you can stand in line even for 10 minutes or more, with your hot food in your hands. If the people in front of you order coffee, mango lassis for them and other people as well, it can take quite a while before you can pay and eat your food. So I'd recommend to check the line before standing to cue. But if you are lucky enough with the cue, you can eat your food...

English Version:

During our visit to James Joyce's Grave, we stumbled upon a hidden gem in the vicinity - Tibits. This restaurant specializes in vegetarian cuisine and promises a delightful dining experience. Intrigued by its reputation, we decided to give it a try.

As we entered Tibits, we were greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere. The restaurant was tastefully decorated, creating a cozy and elegant ambiance. The combination of a homey atmosphere and fancy decor immediately caught our attention.

We started our culinary journey by indulging in their tasty salads. The freshness of the ingredients and the creative combination of flavors made each salad a delightful treat for our taste buds. It was evident that a lot of thought and care went into the preparation of these dishes.

One cannot visit Tibits without trying their signature dish, the nicely cooked che. The dish was a perfect blend of textures and flavors, leaving us completely satisfied. We paired our meal with good beer, wine, and bitter, which complemented the flavors beautifully.

To quench our thirst, we opted for their delicious coffee, juice, and smoothies. Each drink was expertly crafted, and we could taste the quality in every sip. It was the perfect way to refresh ourselves and continue our culinary adventure.

The staff at Tibits were attentive, friendly, and creative. They made excellent recommendations and catered to our dietary preferences with ease. Their professionalism and knowledge added to the overall dining experience, and we felt well taken care of throughout our visit.

One aspect that impressed us was the democratic pricing. Despite offering high-quality vegetarian cuisine, Tibits managed to keep the prices reasonable. This made the restaurant accessible to a wide range of visitors, allowing everyone to enjoy their delicious offerings without breaking the bank.

Overall, our experience at Tibits was nothing short of exceptional. The combination of tasty salads, nicely cooked che, and a wide selection of beverages made it a vegetarian paradise. The homey atmosphere, fancy decor, and professional service added to the overall charm of the restaurant. Whether you're a vegetarian or simply looking for a delicious and healthy meal, Tibits is definitely worth a visit.
