Welschland — Restaurant in Zurich

Fantastic store with LOTS of cheeses from the French region of Switzerland and some of the kindest, more friendly service I have encountered in the country. The man behind the counter shared helpful descriptions of all the cheeses we were curious about, asked about our tastes to help us find cheeses we would like, and even let us try some. Overall, we had a very enjoyable and successful cheese shopping experience and would highly recommend this store whether you are a cheese connoisseur or just want some cheese to take with you on a hike. You will not find a better cheese shop, it’s just not physically possible. Yes, it’s beautiful and well located. The staff are friendly and have stories to share. The owner gave me a small sample of vieux Gruyère that made my brain implode and explode in all sorts of directions. This place deserves more than one Michelin star. Walked in knowing nothing about cheeses. Had a short conversation and got a great selection of cheese and locally made sausages to bring to a party. Prices seemed reasonable and the quality of everything in the shop was top notch. They even spoke very good English since my German definitely doesn't extend to conversations...
