Recommended by our taxi driver and known as the locals favorite beef noodles, we had to try it. The menu has both pictures and English wordings but ordering was a bit difficult since the order sheet was in Chinese only.
However, the lovely lady staff helped us order and guided us to the payment which was on the other side. They then brought our foods to the table. Service was quick.
Heres what we ordered: COMBINATION BRAISED DISH. Consisting of braised eggs, chicken, kelp, ear, tofu and peanuts. The sauce they used to braise the ingredients was so flavorful yet light. It was pleasant to eat and definitely unique and a must try dish.
BEEF NOODLE SOUP. As the name suggests, this place is known for their beef noodle soup. The soup was clear, not oily, and quite beefy. The noodles were the right chewiness and there was a very generous amount of beef shank, tendon and tripe.
CABBAGE DUMPLING. The dumpling skin was floury thus a bit chewy yet not unpleasantly thick. The flavor of the filling was fragrant and juicy. The dipping sauce served was very salty so dip with caution. However, we felt that this wasn’t the best representation of a good dumpling.
SESAME NOODLES. Very interesting noodles. The sesame sauce was very fragrant (tastes like they roasted it), thick but quite oily. The noodles had a nice chew and were perfect for the sesame sauce to coat on.
Overall, a nice first experience for taiwanese food. I highly recommend that you don’t miss out on the combination braised dish as it was...

❗Conclusion: If there’s no line, it’s worth considering a revisit. However, waiting in such a long queue doesn’t justify the taste of the food. Foreign visitors might want to consider trying other beef noodle shops instead of this one. (By the way, please skip the famous Yongkang Street Beef Noodles in Taipei. It’s highly overrated! There are way better options for beef noodles in Taipei that are definitely not this place.)
🍜Food: 🔹The broth of the braised beef noodles is on the sweeter side. The beef feels like jerky soaked in water; the braised flavor doesn’t penetrate deeply, and the beef fibers are very prominent. However, some people might like this texture. 🔹A major drawback is that a few thicker pieces of beef tendon were not properly cooked through. 🔹The portion of liver slices is relatively small for 70 TWD, but the taste is decent. 🔹The cucumbers are fresh and crunchy, and the wavy cuts look nice, but they aren’t marinated enough. 🔹The Taiwanese-style pickled cabbage is okay but has a slight tap water taste. The texture is crisp. 🔹The sweet potato leaves are delicious, seasoned simply with garlic and salt for a refreshing flavor. The leaves are tender, too.
💁🏽♀️Service: The menu includes Chinese, English, Japanese, and Korean, with pictures, which is thoughtful. so overall, it’s okay. 🥢Environment: isn’t too dirty—at least there’s no open drainage nearby. It’s acceptable. A downside is the use of disposable tableware (understandable given the high customer turnover, but still a minus). Sauerkraut and condiments are self-serve, but hygiene can be an issue since they’re exposed to dirt, small insects, or even saliva from nearby conversations (I avoided using them). 💲Price: For Taipei, a small bowl of half-tendon, half-meat beef noodles at 210 TWD is mid-range. Side dishes are about 40 TWD per plate. The pricing is reasonable.
Read moreVery popular and bustling place. Despite being an outdoor cafe place, the service was quite attentive. It's a quick & high turnover but they get the tables cleared out quite quickly and they remember what you have ordered. The food is good. I'm not a fan of red meat (& non-poultry), so instead of the traditional, or signature, beef noodles, I had wantan with noodles in their beef broth. That was very good. I cleared out the bowl completely. I had a piece of beef strip from someone else's beef noodle and the meat was tender and very flavourful (of the essence of the broth). I would consider order the traditional beef noodle next time. But then I might be able to enjoy finishing off the broth after, as because of the beef, it rendered the soup oilier than the meal dish with the meat. But if you don't have such pretty hang-ups as I do, I highly recommend the traditional beef...
