The hotel is old, carpet worn out. Lift was extremely small and old. This hotel is a little strange especially on the ground level, seems to have a lot of partitions, and was very confusing like walking in a maze to find your way in and out. Staff are courteous and friendly.
WIFI in my room does not work at all! Very small in room TV and limited programs. Though room is clean but I have mosquitoes bites for both nights. Rather upsetting!
Need to place deposit of NT200 per power adapter to loan one. Limited breakfast spread. Delicious soya milk. In room hotspring was good, water supply was strong and fast to fill up the tub. I felt that the bath room's light was too dim. The public onsen has both indoor and outdoor. Not very big Indoor pools. The outdoor pool has fascinating decor. However, there seems to be a broken tile in the pool (I am not quite sure), thus I only spent 15 minutes in that pool and proceed to the indoor pools instead. The best part to stay in this hotel probably was the location as it was very close to XinBeiTou Station and bus stops to Yangmingshan and Bamboo Lakes as well as other...
Read moreCentrally located. Minutes walk to XinBeiTou Station and bus stop which can bring you to various sightseeing destinations e.g. Thermal Valley, Yangmingshan, Flower Clock, Zhuzihu etc. Staff are courteous and friendly when we seek for assistance.Hotel has a small beautiful garden/pond before check in counter. However it has too many partitions so it was like entering a maze when you want to move in/out of hotel. It took me a few times to get my way right.Hotel in-room onsen is quite nice. Big space for relaxing bath. Powerful water supply and pressure. Nice fragrance of shampoo and bodywash. We have to place a deposit of NT200 for borrowing power adapter. Refund was also fast upon check out.Extremely minus points for me were :Mosquitoes Room's carpet was extremely worn out WiFi wasn't working for our roomVery limited breakfast items served, most items are the same everyday and the dining hall has a step elevated before you get your food and personally I think it is a safety hazard. Probably not a good choice for older folks or people has...
Read moreWhen we arrived at Shan Yue, we tried to check in (it was 1pm) but were told that check in wasn't until 6pm. They said we couldn't use the facilities until we checked in either. As we'd travelled quite far to get here we weren't that pleased so after a bit of negotiation, they allowed us to drop our bags and use the communal (gender segregated) spa. It was great, with three pools and a sauna. ||We came back at 4pm to pick something up from our bags and were told that our room was ready, which we really appreciated as they must have got it ready early. We had a double with hot springs and it was really lovely, the bed was really comfy and it was very cool to have a hot spring bath/hot tub in your room. ||The only downside was the noise - we were staying next to people coming and going a lot and constantly running the hot springs, so we could hear constant slamming or pipes from our room late into the night. We were probably just unlucky with our...
