While I cannot truly compare this with other pepper buns (the only other one I had was at another night market in Kaohsiung, and I think the one I got had been sitting around for a bit), I will review it for what it is.

When I got there, I was told the next set of buns would be out in 10 mins, and it seems that each batch sells out, so be prepared to wait. But the wait is worth it! The buns come out hot, very crispy on the outside and super juicy and flavourful on the inside.

Do not know what the hype is about.... felt cheated by all the reviews... all the reviews are so fake... please dont waste time and calories on this.... it is just a normal meat bun with minimum to no peppery taste.... meat quality is so so.... really not worth the wait.... stall owner is very rude as well.... not necessary to wait or waste your time on this.... Pepper bun from Raohe night market is the one you will want of...

We went there before noon on Friday. At that time, we don’t need to wait in a row and got pepper cakes in a minute! A pepper cake consists of bread crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, cut green onions and ground pork. It hardly have Asian unique spice so even children can try it. Personally, this place and 老牌牛肉拉麺大王 should be dropped in at when visit Taipei...

This is a great pepper bun shop with sweet owners! Hours are limited and buns sell quickly, so expect to go an hour before the next serving. I placed my order around 3pm for the 4pm batch and they were hot and ready when I came back. The dough is light and perfectly proportioned to the peppery, oniony filling.
