The fruits, side dishes, Haggen-Dazs, and sweet soups are free and all-you-can-eat. The Selective Side Dishes (Unlimited Seasonings) cost $50. In terms of the hot pot bases, you can choose Quarter Pot, Double Flavour Hotpot, or Whole Hot Pot.
Most importantly, no matter how many flavours of hotpot you want to eat, Quarter Pot is always the most worthwhile option. For instance, I ordered a Quarter Pot with one Haidilao Three-Delicacy Soup Base but all the other 3 were free Plain Water Hot Pots. On the contrary, if you order a Whole Hot Pot, it’ll cost much more. The price of my pot went down from $596 to merely $159.
I had a half USAD Choice Beef (Half: $249, Portion: $498), a half Angus Blade Beef (Half: $219, Portion: $438), a can of Sprite ($38), and a bowl of rice ($15).
At the beginning, there was a plate of minced chicken which was for the soup and it tasted great. I think the beef went the most delicious with the Barbecue (Satay) Sauce from The $50 Selective Side Dishes. Haggen-Dazs was located near the front door and only got 2 flavours but enough for me because both were the flavours I like. The sweet soup today was Hyptis suaveolens with white gourd and lemon juice and its sweetness and sourness were on the perfect scale and suaveolens had amazing texture.
To be honest, nevertheless, the atmosphere was just kinda crazy and too loud for me. Their performance was held around 18:30 but I didn’t watch it just heard the sounds, applause and the music. On top of that, there were like 3 birthday parties held today here and I keep getting annoyed by them.
In conclusion, it was my first time eating Haidilao Hot Pot but the restaurant became very bustling after 18:00. I did make a reservation this time which was definitely needed. If you don’t do that, you can barely have chance to eat here.
Despite all the shortcomings, it was still a good experience because the soup here tasted special and the robots sang their catchy and hilarious special Haidilao song while ushering me to my table. Furthermore, you could also choose to eat with their doll which was a panda.
Overall, it’s an 8 out of 10 (The food and service were both 9.5 / 10, but only 5 / 10 for the surroundings)
FYI, you use the IPad to order your food and English was available and no 10%service charge...
Read moreI really enjoy this restaurant. It is in Q Square (Taipei Main station) on 4th floor. First time I came here. If you come here and must be wait for serving, don't worry. They offer nail service, enjoy cookies and ice cream. But don't eat so much. You come here to eat hotpot. Their hotpot is so delicious with many flavours. I recommend that you should choose 4 flavours. 2 flavours and 4 flavours hotpot are around 400NTD, not so much different price. They give them an tablet to order. But in my opinion, not so much seafood option, just basic. U can choose half or whole portion, depending on you. U can control the price and what you want to order by yourself. The day I come here, they have Chinese performance (face mask changing). Oh, So nice and fun. In addition, you can see 'noodles performance'. For me it is ok, it is just around 5 minutes and...no special (when they perform, music will coming.. It is Sugar). Sausage is NTD50/person. After eating, they offer you free ice-cream, cookies and fruit. I came here in the afternoon, so it is sunny at my table (my table is near window). But they can't change table, we accept it. At the end, they give us Taiwanese 'dianxin' (fried bun with milk butter) which is so tasty. Their waiters are helpful and friendly. For all of this, we give waiters who served us some tips. It is not required, just because we enjoy their...
Read moreI had a very disappointing experience with the management and prioritization of the reservations. I booked a table of three at 22:30, and we arrived at around 21:50. My friends decided to look around while I waited at the restaurant for further notice. One of the staff informed me a table was available for us around 22:15, and I told her that I gotta look for my friends. Around 22:27, my friends returned, and I told the staff (at that time, only a male staff was coordinating the reservations) that we were ready. And yet, we waited about 20 minutes, witnessing several customers being prioritized. It was then that I realized the male staff had mistakenly put us on the waiting list. So I came to the staff and complained about the above story. The staff apologized and told us there was a table for us. We didn't take that as the experience was unacceptable.
Updates: the staffs apologized, explained what happened on their side, and invited me to go again. I won't be available as I'll return to Germany soon. Nevertheless, they sent us some hot pot kits. Maybe I'll go again...
