I love, looooove this hotel. I know coming here that the room will be small and probably old, I even had slightly low expectations on the cleanliness, but this hotel is great! It's literally outside Taipei Main Station's Y13 exit, not even 10 steps away. It's near a lot of food stores and other shops. The room was small, as are most hotels in Taiwan, but our room had all our needs. It had a tv, a table where we got to do some work with our laptop, has a mini fridge, closet, good AC, plenty of power outlets and even had adapters for western plugs. Toiletries were provided, we were even given extra pillows we asked for for free. Water pressure is great! There's no shortage of hot water to wash away your tiredness from exploring Taiwan's beautiful landscapes and bustling night markets. Staff are helpful. ROOMS ARE QUIET which cannot be said for most budget hotels in Taipei as most of them have thin walls, you can hear people talking or banging on the next rooms. Bed is comfortable, pillows and comforter are great and posh. They can clean your room as long as you let them know. There are areas to leave your luggage securely. If you check out and leave your bags with them and come back for them later in the day, they can let you use their common areas and it's only 50ntd to shower, provided with towels and toiletries. Water refill, microwave, teas, coffees, mugs and other cooking materials available in their 6th floor common area. Everything you'll want from an expensive hotel is available here as long as you don't mind the small room but honestly, it's bigger than most budget hotels in the city. CLEANLINESS is 9.5/10.0 :) They also have a phone that easily connects you to the frontdesk that will come to your room for assistance and after 10PM, you can use a key fob to let yourself in an out when the reception is out for the day. This hotel also houses bed spaces and solo rooms for solo tourists. SERIOUSLY, JUST BOOK IT :) Just take note that there's no elevator, so ask for a room in the 2nd floor if you can't climb up. My big thanks to the hotel and see...
Read moreAs a solo traveler, I chose Main Inn Hotel, Taipei for its location, and in that regard, it did not disappoint. It was easy to get around the city, and the convenience of nearby public transport made exploring seamless. However, my experience with the hotel’s service and amenities left me feeling slightly disappointed.Throughout my stay, I was not entirely sure if all requested amenities were consistently provided. Things took a turn on my last night when housekeeping did not replenish basic necessities such as fresh towels or a trash bag replacement. I had asked for the trash bag to be changed, and the hotel staff acknowledged my request. However, I also mentioned that I would not need a towel replacement since it was my final night. Despite that, the overall lack of service made the last night feel somewhat neglected.Another challenge arose during my check-out process. Since I had to leave early for my flight, I dropped my room key into the designated box at the front desk, as instructed by the hotel. There was no staff present at the time, and I assumed the check-out process was completed. However, once I arrived at my destination, I turned on my phone only to find messages from the hotel via Trip.com, asking about the room key. I promptly responded, but later, I had to clarify the situation again over a phone call with Trip.com staff. This miscommunication added unnecessary frustration to my post-trip experience. While the hotel has potential and provides a convenient stay for travelers, service consistency and clearer communication need improvement. If you are looking for a straightforward stay in Taipei without expecting exceptional service, this hotel might suffice—but keep an eye on housekeeping and check-out details.Would I stay here again? Possibly, but only if service...
Read moreGREAT location (train right across the street, 15 minute walk from night markets), clean beds, and has free laundry washing (drying is $50 for 45 minutes, they also have an outdoor drying rack) but rooms need work. The beds are really hard, theres mold and rust everywhere in the bathrooms despite being cleaned everyday, the shower curtain is also too short so the floor floods after each shower and takes forever to dry, the lighting sucks (even in your cubicle), and available lockers are really small. Front desk doesnt explain much of the processes either, I was locked out twice at night, first time because I didnt know they lock the front door once the desk closes, and the second time because I didn't know how to put the code in (that I was able to get from my dormmate) and wasn't able to ask the desk before heading out since they closed early. My key also didnt come with the entry nob thing to begin with so if it wasn't for someone coming in and out after 5-10 minutes of me waiting, im not sure how i wouldve gotten in. The breakfast is super simple, just bread, dumplings, and buns. The downside is it's not all you can eat, so if one person decides to eat half of what's available at 9 30, everyone else is lucked out despite breakfast ending at 11. You have to pay for towels, detergent, soap, etc. There is no elevator, only narrow steps. Theres also a rack in the hallway to store luggage before checking in and a bit after check out. It's not secure by any means so maybe don't leave your valuables. Wasn't a horrible stay, but I don't see myself coming back unless I'm on a...
