The English review is below.
The weather is hot, so I went to Daqiaotou. Since I didn't have to go to class, when I wanted to eat something, the usual tofu pudding place was closed. As a result, I ended up discovering delicious food! Zaoding, they really make ordinary food incredibly tasty, with a delicate and just-right flavor. I even doubted whether it was just my taste buds or mood that made it taste so good...
The soup wasn't overly salty, and you could feel that the amount of water used in cooking was just right. It wasn't greasy or heavy, it was genuinely refreshing and subtly sweet. The cabbage and shredded radish in the rice had a consistent texture, and somehow they managed to remove the distinctive smell of these vegetables, leaving only their pleasant aroma. The crispy fried shallots in the rice, or were they fried noodle rolls? Mixing them with soup had generate a unique fragrance.
The small dish of fish roe salad was good and generous. I initially thought it would be a perfunctory serving of fish roe.
Unfortunately, I didn't try the spicy sauce. The food was delicious and reasonably priced, and the soup was refillable. I ate so much that I had to take some home.
Feeling full is heartwarming, it's a simple and contented fullness. After a shower and a nap, I felt relaxed both physically and mentally. It's only when you eat delicious food that you can truly believe in the happiness it brings!
This place may not be suitable for those who wanna enjoy heavy flavors or come here purely out of curiosity because of the Bib Gourmand. If you happen to pass by and try it or wanna try Taiwan local taste, you'll be...
Read moreIf I can give 0 star, I will. Went there with my husband and we are there around 5pm, the start of the dinner peak, but not the most crowded time. We were standing in the line and some old lady came and shouted at us. We speak mandarin, we told her we gonna have the soup here instead of take out. She shouted us in Taiwanese dialect, immediately I told her I don't understand. She walks away, we continue standing there for another 5mins.. no one cares. Until the guy told us to find our own seat and write the order. We find our own seat write our order and pass it to her. She shouted at us in dialect again. We immediate said we don't understand in mandarin. So we are there another 5mins no one care about us. I wanted to just walk out and go to other stall instead. Another lady told us take one piece of the order paper and pass it to her.. waited another 15mins no one cares about us. The local guy beside us finally couldn't take it and asked us if we are tourist. He help us to tell them we are tourist and don't understand dialect. This is the worst service I got in Taiwan! I been to so many cities in Taiwan none of the store is like this. If I can make complaint to michelin guide I will. They don't deserve it at all. Now about the soup.. Malaysian and Singaporean you will get me.. Is just ABC soup. Your food court or even hawker stall will be better. The rice is just similar to pumkin rice. nothing to rave about.
Tourist stay away from this place!!!
Read moreThey sell cabbage rice and rib soup. Their cabbage rice is kind of light, actually, lighter than what I'm used to have from where I grew up. Rib soup looked attractive because the ribs were huge. The soup itself had no problem, ribs were ok, however, all the radish in my bowl had very thick and tough texture, just like old skin. I'm sure if they peeled the radish more, it would be...
