WOOKT 窩墾丁 BARISTRO COFFEE — Restaurant in Hengchun

I saw some reviews that portion size was small, decided to still take a risk anyway as I needed a place to get some work done. Food was great, ordered the mentaiko pasta and a ice mocha which was really good. Food taste is an easy 4/5 however, food here is considered on the pricier end considering location. Food portion is also good enough for me. However I’d understand the price point as it’s hard to find a cafe like that in Heng Chun. I would come here again if I needed some place to sit, have coffee and do some work. But I wouldn’t go out of my way...

Maybe food is good. Maybe service is fine. But owner/manager is definitely rude and unrespectful. He litterally asked us to either follow the rule of not playing cards (kids were playing UNO while waiting for their meals… what is wrong with that???) or leave immediately the restaurant (你們剛快離開 in Chinese). Of course, we choose to leave the restaurant. Will not go there again and will deter anyone from going there.

Certainly one of the best western style restaurant in the south Taiwan (they have Asian food too). The portions are fairly large especially for the fish and chips. They offer a craft beer from Taipei. The interior is very unique and you definitely feel like back in Europe. I’m quite confused why this place is located in such a small town though.
