THIS IS NOT A CAT CAFE. (We specifically looked on Google for “cat cafe” and this popped up with high reviews, leading us to definitely beginning to question the veracity of Google recommendations while in Taiwan…) This is more of an eclectic coffee house, of which the owner happens to have a pet cat, which you may or may not happen to see. We didn’t see a cat until we were leaving. If you are going here for cats, absolutely much better options elsewhere. If you are going here for a coffee fix, you probably won’t be disappointed. The fruit infused roiboos tea was enjoyable and refreshing, but definitely not worth the 220NTD ($7.25), the chestnut cream cheesecake was heavenly, for the price of dairy in Taiwan, definitely worth the 150NTD ($4.93). Also, I would assume a coffee place would have wifi. Maybe that’s just through the Western lens of my experience, but this place did not have WiFi. The environment was also not one I wanted to sit and savor the experience. It was more “I hope the order comes fast so we can get out of here…” It felt like visiting an old relatives house who happened to also be a hoarder. There was a table on a tatami mat to sit at (on the floor), and two additional chairs on the other side of the room. It felt very crowded even though we were the only ones there. Overall, since I’m not a coffee drinker and just came for the cats, I definitely won’t be back, but if you are a coffee connoisseur, they might have your future coffee match...
Read moreKohi 宅 lives up to its name in being the home of great coffee, and in simply feeling like home (if your home is very beautiful and cosy). When you enter the lovely French doors, you are greeted by delightful things: carefully-curated vintage decor, the aroma of roasting coffee beans, the warm and kind proprietors, evocative music, their tabby cat named Puma curled up in his favourite armchair. There is a vast range of coffee on offer, all meticulously brewed; the specials (served in iced glasses!) are unique and delicious, as are their specialty blends. The dessert is also very, very good - finely-textured cakes with wholly-edible local fruits and flowers. I’m almost reluctant to recommend it so wholeheartedly, it feels so enjoyably like a private and magical little secret! However, Kohi 宅 is simply and sincerely very good at what they do and in doing so, one of the best cafes...
Read moreQuaint little coffee place with a real cosy vibe; the lights are comfortable enough to write & read.
Owner was friendly and polite, & recommends well according to your preferred taste.
It’s not your typical cafe, but truly a place for one that understands and appreciates coffee.
The brewing method was precise as well. No doubt on the pricier end with it being hand dripped.
Enjoyed my coffee very much. It was light on the palette and with a hinge of sweetness that comes after.
Will recommend for individuals that appreciate a good...
