浮室咖啡 soave plan — Restaurant in Hualien City

Came in on a wet, windy, and rainy day in Hualien and had some coffee and treats. We ordered the signature blend and the barista had customised our coffees to our preferred way of having coffee: double espresso with about 70ml of hot creamy milk like a short macchiato topped up (back in Perth). The coffee was nutty and fragrant. The treats were delicious too. We had an apple pie/slice and 2 scones. The scones were choc + traditional orange peel and a berry one. Both of them were delicious, and the scone was buttery and crumbly....

Very over-priced for Hualien, quite a nice, calm environment inside, bit like a library in atmosphere rather than a coffee shop. Also, for the price, the coffee is very small, see pictures.

The menu is confusing though as they've opted to call a Latte a 'coffee with more foam milk' and a Cappuccino a 'coffee with less foam milk', unnecessarily wordy.

The staff seem a bit dazed, more interested in taking videos of themselves talking about coffee, than serving customers.

Best place in the city! We are tourist (not from Taiwan) who visited for a few days. The coffee and the deserts are amazing! This place is beautiful and the owner designed it by himself. He kindly and patiently helped us book a tour in the city because we didn’t know how to find the best one. If you need a good working place to seat for a few hours, that’s your spot. Prices are fair and they have oat milk, which you can’t necessarily find easily in this town.
