A hidden gem in the busy streets of Gushan District. If you're on your way to pier 2 and want to experience friendly and exciting steaks from an older taiwanese restaurant atmosphere. This is the place to visit!!! I promise that the feel is what you would expect in a 90's style era where things were black and white. Buildings were red bricks and the transition to colored pictures and influence from outside countries were a trend. Even the music is very classical and the tables have old posters, news, and pictures of Taiwan's life. One of the best places to experience something different. It's small restaurants like these in Taiwan that make my food adventures worth every penny. This may not be the best steak compared to high end restaurants that charge an arm or a leg. But it gives that atmosphere like feeling that brings you back in time. I would like to come here again and I would definitely tell my friends and my visiting friends that if they come to Kaohsiung they should try these hidden gems that are still alive and well. I support these people and there perseverance to keep this small establishment open. 5 star recommended. Plus they gave us free yellow duck gifts. Something that not many restaurants or people in business where profit is little would...

Mei-Jou Steak is a retro treasure in Taiwan. Begin with a complimentary appetizer of warm bread and soothing corn soup. Then, savor sizzling steaks on hotplates—be it beef, chicken, or pork—with my personal favorite being the hearty Taiwanese beef steak at an unbeatable 160NTD. To quench your thirst, indulge in endless refills of their aromatic black tea. A vintage treat...
