We arrived to our homestay much later than expected due to traffic, torrential rain, then not being able to locate the homestay due to funky GPS being off. By the time we made it to the old streets many vendors were closing. We were excited to find this vegan restaurant and the owners welcomed us warmly, telling us to not worry about closing. Each of our dish (including vegetarian burdock rice) was delicious and filling, and we even shared a truly wonderful mango ice with pudding! The steak & rice - super delicious, the steak is very good (if it wasn't vegan restaurant I would double check it is not real meat).
I ordered nr 4 - expecting a plate of noodles with some veg. I was very surprised when it arrived in a soup form.
If you love the taste of home cooking, you have to have the soup! It's amazing!
The wontonsnwere really good, but it's the pasta - noodles - that was the best part in the soup! You can taste that it was freshly made, the dough is delicious!
It's such a shame that the restaurant is so far away from Taipei, otherwise I would eat here every day!

Read moreWhat a surprise to find this vegetarian eatery on the old street. It’s back to back right next to another vegetarian eatery. So happy visiting Jiu-fen now have more vegetarian options.
We tried their recommendable herbal vermicelli soup and it’s really tasty!! Though it’s in a hot day, we felt pretty refreshing after eating it.
Originally we ordered a rice dish, maybe the misunderstanding so they forgot 😅 and we kept sitting/chilling in their eatery. Really friendly people and we definitely will try more stuff from their menu in the future visits.
