I have eaten plant-based for many years, and eaten in many plant-based restaurants in several countries. This was hands down the worse vegetarian meal I have ever had. Forgot about the fact the the place is noisy, and the food is delivered with factory-line efficiency to get you out the door quick to make room for the next seating. The food itself is AWFUL. We ordered several things to try a range of their dishes, and most all of them were literally dripping with oil and grossly over-salted to the point of being disgusting. I can only imagine this must be to appeal to non-vegetarian patrons? The only things I considered somewhat edible were the steamed dumplings, which were NT$130 for three tiny ones. I was being treated to lunch by a friend, but if I had been alone I might have left the food on the table and walked out after paying to cut my losses and save my stomach. I am puzzled by all of the five star reviews, but I guess as the saying goes, "different strokes for different folks." However, if you are looking for clean, healthy food, you ain't gonna...
Read moreI went here with my mother and friend and are so disappointed. When we looked at the menu, everything looked so delicious. My mother had looked up the review before going and had great reviews. However, it is expensive and the food served is average.
We ordered about 7 vegetarian dishes some to include: sweet and sour chicken, Lao Tan Pickled Fish soup, Braised Loofah with crab roe, A Touch of Happiness (egg dish) and egg rolls (long egg rolls). Out of the dishes 3 were major disappointments.
The egg dish (A Touch of Happiness) is not good. It tastes like something you can make at home and the flavors did not work together well and seemed like a cheap dish.
The Lao Tan Pickled Fish soup was so sour that it was not pleasant to drink. The ingredients also did not taste that well. The egg rolls were very long... but there were barely any vegetables inside of it.
The only dish that seemed worthwhile to order is the Braised Loofah with Crab roe. Everything else is just mediocre and not worth the 2680 NT that we paid. We will most...
Read moreI went overboard with the number of dishes we ordered given it was a long awaited family reunion (over 20 dishes for five people). Everything was incredibly tasty. Loved they use mushroom and other health ingredients in so many dishes. We were super impressed that the fish in the sour cabbage fish soup is made with lion's mane mushrooms and konjac! The vegetable dumplings are also delicious! Everyone raved about the truffle fried rice. Appreciated the server who diligently checked what options my husband could have given hia dietary restriction to refined sugar (no soy sauce). The spicy dishes are super spicy though so for those who like some kick, dishes with chili signs are the ones to go.
One improvement they absolutely need is to accept credit card! It's very inconvenient especially for foreign tourists when the total price can...
