BEWARE: MINIMUM ORDER. My friends ordered a cup of coffee each and I didn’t wanna get one because I was already quite full. At first the staff didn’t say anything, but after a while when my friends were almost done with their coffee, the staff came over and said there’s a minimum charge and I need to order. Honestly they could have said this earlier when we were ordering and we could decide whether to leave or not but now I feel forced because I have to order if not how? Do I stand outside and talk to my friends through a window? One of my friends actually bought their coffee beans so it’s not like we didn’t order enough $$ for 3 people. They were also so SLOW, they only started making my coffee when I told them we are going to leave. I found solidbean coffee roasters online before I head off to Taichung on a Saturday. I LOVE good coffee and good food. And the clean and simple interior is a feast for the eyes. I was impressed from the moment I set foor in the alley leading to the café! On arrival we were greeted very friendly. We took a seat and were offered the menus. What I like most is the limited options. Only 5/6 gourmet sandwiches made with the freshest ingredients. I had the chorizo sandwich with rocket, tomato, feta and balsamic. Great atmosphere, both indoor and outdoor are nice and very well maintained…I guess, thanks to very well trained staff. Coffee, light to medium roast, multiple options, I tried espresso and flat white, quite good and well presented. I am a medium to dark roast person, so flat white was a bit light for me…and I guess it’s better to serve it a bit hotter so that people can enjoy the cup for few minutes. Not a kids friendly place in my view as there is nothing kids friendly in the menu. The only dessert is tiramisu which has alcohol and hence not fit for kids, so don’t recommend if you have...
