Read moreI made a reservation about one month in advance for 5pm but was told to wait (not sure why). At 5.20pm I couldn’t wait anymore so I asked the counter and they immediately directed us to the second floor. The front counter on the first floor, none of them could speak English so it was a bit difficult for us as foreigners to communicate with them. We were seated on the second floor. The waiter, I did not manage to get his name or staff number, was very helpful. He spoke a little English and I spoke a little Mandarin so we worked together to order the food. He showed me an English menu but the online order website was all in Mandarin so in the end he used whatever minimal English he knew to help us place our order. Food was great, service was also phenomenal. Service was fast and the food is served one after another with no waiting time. The set is very worth it, but the amount for two pax is too much but that could be because we are small eaters. Sadly, we couldn’t finish the delicious salad, rice and some of the meat. The service staff came to change our grill twice and checked on how we were doing several times including peeling the prawns for us. Meat and seafood were all very fresh and worth the price. We even got a flower and card for...

But that particular day the rice was under cook so we didn’t get any rice until we were finished with our meal. (Rice is my sons staple food) they also didn’t have noodles either which made the meal very meat heavy. During the course of our meal someone came by several time to let us know one of the children in our group was shrieking too loud (mind you it wasn’t continuous screaming) but we had a pretty big group, spending a decent amount in a private room. The room they gave us unfortunately did not have any doors so did not help with sound proofing.
When we were done our meals, we were told to choose our ice cream flavour etc but when it arrived all the flavours were the same because “they ran out” the best alternative they could provide was soft serve ice cream.
Originally we were quite excited to come here since we’ve heard so much about how popular and amazing Umai is, but we all left pretty...
