It was my first visit to McDonald this evening since it's inception in Taipei over 30+ years. It was conveniently located right next to the ever-spring ambassador movie theatre a few doors down. My first impression was the nice and cool air condition. In such humid and hot day, it was a very welcoming atmosphere. The restaurant was crowded and noisy since it's around 6:30pm. This young lady service staff at the counter was quite impatient already when taking the order from the customer before us . I was hoping we would not need to be served by her. Unfortunately, it was unavoidable when it was our turn. First of all, she forcefully grabbed the laminated menu from my hand and accused me that I should not have taken it. That's ridiculous! It was my sister in law borrowed from the other staff earlier, so she and my mom in law could take time at the table and decide what to order since they hardly ever came to the McDonald. And I brought it back to tell her what we would like to order. Then, we could not understand her fast talking about the set menu. She started to yell loudly and impatiently. I told her that she didn't need to use such tone to treat the customers. We'd have understood what she was saying IF she could just slow down a little and calmly explained clearly. Luckily, the manager spotted the brewing and imminent conflict btwn the customer vs. service staff. She immediately took over the sale. It would have quickly escalated the incident if she didn't catch the fall out. In terms of the food: In comparing the size of BigMac in California, it was only about half the size. The contents were also shrunk. It'd be more suitable to call it MiniMac! French fries tasted the same. Overall experience was from bad to unbearable. I now understand why the reputation of McDonald in Taiwan was below par. ;'( i should have listened to my sister in law and went to the MosBurger instead. I knew the experience would be totally different and better! I can't recommend MacDonald to the hungry...
