Prepare yourself for some massive gastrointestinal problems. Let me just start off with just the food. I thought that the raw fish looked somewhat okay -- although clearly un-fresh, some even icy frozen, I thought that it was for the most part, edible. After all, I wanted to see what all the hype was about this restaurant. Few hours after I ate at this restaurant, me and the person I ate at this place with had the most uncomfortable, diarrhetic, painful experience of our lifetimes. I surely overestimated by body's capability to handle this poor quality of fish. I lack the words to portray the fiery burn of my rectum and the extreme pain I was left in. I dashed from public bathroom to bathroom for the rest of the entire day - and when I say dashed, I mean clenching and waddling. I was left grovelling in the bathroom, simultaneously having to vomit and defecate. My body was trying it's very hardest to expel the contents of the food that I ate as fast as possible. I was left defeated, clenching onto the toilet bowl trying to vomit and staring back at myself through the water's reflection. I began to seriously contemplate my life decisions - wondering where I went wrong.
Don't be lured by the restaurants' '40 NT' per plate pricing. In coping with the aftermath, I spent hundreds on gastrointestinal medicine, laxatives, and pain medication. Sure, the restaurant has a gimmick - it's mostly autonomous, but if you want an autonomous, go to Yayoi down the street - the quality is far superior. Not to mention the outrageous 2-3 hour wait-times for this restaurant. After all this, I'm left to wonder why everyone is so excited to have their stomachs and intestines obliterated.
Please heed this warning: If you must eat conveyor belt sushi, I urge you to pay a little more to eat at a slightly better one. Please avoid this restaurant at all costs, your stomach will...
Read moreThis place isn’t bad but we very much preferred magic touch in ximending. The area is more lively there so we thought this place would be better value but were wrong and disappointed. Because of their plate disposal system, everything was either 40NT or double that at 80NT (2 plates) for the most part. The things that are 80NT are cheaper usually at Magic touch and most being 40NT there anyway we’re better value. Tuna and salmon pieces on nigiri were noticeably smaller here for the same cost. We recommend magic touch for sure over this place. MT also has more offerings. This place needs to step up if it wants to compete as I believe the other place is new to being a sushi restaurant as before it was dim sum. It’s catching up and surpassing this establishment quickly and we highly recommend going there until there is improvement to value and offerings here. For the record, we are big nigiri eaters ordering 15-25 plates per person each time when satisfied. We didn’t meet that here and paid...
Read moreWe arrived before 1130 and were seated right away beating the lunch crowd. About half of the booths were occupied and it was about 3/4 full by the time we left. The booths are big enough to accommodate 4.
The food was fresh and our orders arrived within 2-3 min after we order from their touch screen.
Between the two of us we ordered about 15 plates which gave us 3 tries at their lottery game.
Place was clean and comfortable. We’ve visited their flagship store near Taipei Main Station before and this place is smaller but overall was the same quality experience.
Our lunch was ~NT$6-700 which is reasonable considering. Would recommend to friends and will return again.
This was right outside the MRT exit 8 around the corner on the green line so very convenient if you’re taking public...
