Worth a visit, especially if you’re coming in from overseas or looking for a fresh point of view on Taiwanese ingredients.
My partner managed to secure a booking here last minute on a Sunday night and I feel very lucky to have experienced the hospitality, focus, and creativity that the small but incredible team brought to this dinner. Chef Kou is young, and he is also constantly experimenting. It’s real fun to experience how the team is pushing some boundaries of flavour combinations, while still making sure it tastes good.
The provenance of the ingredients also fully shine with this menu. There is so much effort that has gone into showcasing beautiful Taiwanese produce. The best thing I can compare this to is an abstract painting made with traditional ink, with some bold strokes in interesting and provocative directions.
Was everything perfect? Pretty close. Was the food bold and memorable? Absolutely. Would I come back and try a future menu? Definitely!

Read moreI went to Set for my Christmas Eve Dinner and I do not regret any second of it. This was my first year celebrating Christmas away from close friends and family, and just enjoying a new culture, and Set made me feel at home for this special night. Staff were super friendly and attentive, the food was incredible, all the plates were delicious and meticulously planned detail by detail, the chef came personally to explain each plate and to make sure we were enjoying our experience.
Personally I am lactose intolerant, which I didn’t informed previously to the restaurant (my bad), the chef was super attentive and willing to change one of the plates last minute to make sure I was fine. He and the staff went above and beyond to warrantee an unforgettable night, and they surely made it.
I definitely loved it and Set will be, from now on, my must to...
Read moreInteresting ingredients, a lot of fermented products and Taiwanese local ingredients. Great use and combinations for lots of flavor and texture. Loved the welcoming staff and atmosphere!
Each dish was executed exceptionally! I loved the mushroom soup, beef tenderloin, baby cabbage, taco and especially the butter for the bread.🧈 Loved the ginger ice cream with scoby and honey🍯❤️ , as well as the milk soaked bread with strawberries 🍓 (both desserts were so loved) With black tea at the end. Feels like a lot of thought was put into the menu, loved it.
Their price increased so it feels slightly overpriced, but if quality ingredients are chosen I guess it’s worth it. Portions were small and they leave you wanting more but you can ask for extra bread.
Found out they are on the Michelin guide after I arrived at the...
