This place offers a really unique feel to it. The exterior looks to be resemblance of Japanese infrastructure, interior looks like the tradition izakaya houses.
The colors on the display instantly grabbed my attention and decided to give this place a try
The following food is what I've ordered:
deluxe cubed chirashi don - This was what really dragged me into the place in the first place the colors that was displayed just looks fascinating visually. When the food arrived it was exactly as advertised the bowl was topped to the brim full of different cuts of seafood. (Tuna, salmon, Taco) topped with diced tamagoyaki, cucumber, seaweed and wasabi served on top of warm sushi rice. The flavors of this was magical. tasted super fresh. looks and tasted both magical.
Bonito flaked tofu with dashi soy sauce - soft chilled tofu, nothing much for me to say here. looks and taste exactly what you expected. I only ordered it because I wanted a cold appetizer.
Ebi Tempera Curry - This was the let down at this place which caused me to dock it down a star. Yes the ebi tempera is fresh, you can literary see the chef deep fry it in front of you. But the curry... that was the real let down. It was super watered down and the vegetables weren't cooked soft enough for it to melt in your mouth. Ended up only eating the ebi tempera and a quarter of this dish.
TLDR; the chirashi don was awesome, everything else.... is meh, average. Service is fair, but not comparable to street vendors which is instant service. I had to get my...

The place has a good ambiance inside, Japanese writing on the wall, and lanterns, especially their menus. Good lighting inside, much more on an amber color.
I order some sets of the menu which include chicken, fried fish, sauces with side dishes, and miso soup.
We add some spicy ramen.
All is neat with a good presentation of food. With soft high chairs and tables.
The taste of the chicken is tender, and the fish too, it's good but I can't see differences from the others. The miso soup well I prefer the other miso soup in other Taiwanese restaurants.
The ramen, I'm not on noodles but I try this, to taste if I find a new experience of taste, it serves hot little slices of beef. Not satisfied at all. Something missing.
But overall good serving. Self-service after you eat.
Nice and accommodating staff.
By the way
It's only my opinion about the taste because I know we do not have the same preference for the...
Read moreWe found this tiny restaurant while strolling aroung Ximending. Ordering was easy because of the English menu and online order system (thanks Google Translate in Google Chrome for the English translation). The staff was friendly and accommodating.
The food was good with sufficient portions. There's a wide selection to choose from.
Additionally, the salmon and black marlin sashimi rice bowl was fresh and not fishy. The rice was seasoned perfectly - balanced, sweet and tangy.
The mackerel was good too. The Osaka Takoyaki was decent, with generous octopus bits.
However, it would be better if the tempura's coating was lighter.
This was also my first time eating a miso soup with carrots and visible...
