Obsessed over their ginger tea chicken after first tasting it 3 years back, I visited Taiwan in January 2024 and June 2024 to no avail, as no hot dishes were served on both occasions. The grandmother remained sweet while giving me the bad news with a smile, so I settled on the fruit tea fusion and tea cheesecake (frankly, just passable tastewise) most recently.

Food and tea remain excellent in taste.

Unassuming yet delicious!

You must never come here if you are in a rush as service takes longer than usual, but the quality of food makes the wait more than worth it.

Sun in summer is scorching but the mountain breeze alleviates the heat factor.

Ginger chicken at Sunyang was a revelation, becoming my favorite dish in Taiwan, a must-try over and over.

I sorely missed their chili pepper stirfry.

We went to Maokong at weekend, thankfully we got the best seat here. Right at the corner, at the terrace. When we sat down, one of the lady put an electronic fan right beside our table to cool down the tempature.

Their ice milk tea came with a cute glass, you can see the foam was bubbling real good 🥛 My favorite is their deep-fried sweet potato, it's crispy and when you dip it with plum powder it gives a very unique taste! It's too good that we ended up...

The food was okay. The tea was rather good - we enjoyed two chilled varieties. It was such a hot September day… too hot…. But that is hardly anyone’s fault. Lovely views from the restaurant.

In all honesty, I would skip the food in the future and just stick to the teas. It was more expensive than what you would get in the cities but I guess it’s a matter of being on a hill and you are trapped in a touristy spot with...
