I stayed here with family including my in-law's who are from Taiwan. It's a decent hotel, the check-in was efficient and fast and the rooms in our block (the older block) are pretty basic and seem a little dated and worn but they are clean and everything works. And being in Sun Moon Lake you will only ever want to be in your hotel at night time, so it didn't matter.||Breakfast was good but the hotel is mainly for locals and tourists from Mainland China, so the food is very Chinese/ Taiwanese. Good for us but if you're not into that type of food then don't eat breakfast there.||Actually, the new hotel block (which looks nice) was built a few years ago, mainly to keep up with the increased inflows of tourist groups from Mainland China. However, with the new Green Party government taking power a couple of years ago, these inflows have almost stopped and the hotel seems now pretty empty, sad. ||They do offer dinner as well but we decided to go to the neighbour hotel's restaurant, The Lalu. A bit steep in price but it was nice. ||You can have some nice short walks from the hotel to Shuishe but a lot of people hire bikes to cycle around the lake. Walking from the hotel to restaurants in Shuishe is a bit far in the dark, so if you want to have dinner in the seaside village then get a taxi, they're pretty cheap in Taiwan anyway.||I stayed here for the second time, the first time being well over 10 years ago. I can still recommend staying in the cheaper older block but if you want a bit more luxury and newer rooms, just try to book a room in...

Read more🛏️ The room was spacious and cleaned! The bed was very comfortable, and the light control was very convenient since the digital lighting control was just beside the bed. The bathroom was very cleaned and adequately illuminated by light.
🪟 Some rooms have nice view - sun moon lake, from the balcony but not mine. However, the view was still good as it is located at higher altitude.
🚲 The hostel lobby had some discount coupons for renting bicycles. We used it at the designated store and spent a really great time cycling around the lake. Honestly, if you are spending a night near sun moon lake and you know how to ride a bicycle, you should really rent a bicycle and enjoy hours there. (They have motor scooter too)
👀 There was an observation deck at the top of the building, so we could get a better view of the while place. [Can you spot the giangatic mountain in my photo?]
🥗 The only drawback at this hostel was their breakfast. They had very limited choices of food and drinks for breakfast, but still it was acceptable many people.
⭐ Overall, we spent a great and enjoyable night at this...
