came here for both lunch and dinner on different days to try to give this place a chance because i really want to like it but i honestly just can’t recommend these burgers. they’re not exactly bad, but they’re terribly bland to the point where the sweetness of the brioche(?) bun overpowers pretty much everything else. i get that this kind of low sodium and minimal grease option is healthier, but when you eat something that’s inherently unhealthy like a burger or pizza, you want that sodium and grease. if you want to eat healthy food then go eat healthy food, but eating a watered down version of the real thing just leaves you craving for a big mac or something afterwards.
the fried appetizers i tried were mediocre, but the fishsticks desperately needed tartar sauce or vinegar and the mozzarella sticks were so flavorless and didn’t even come with marinara sauce or anything (again, it’s healthier, but that’s not what people want when they order something like this).
as for the interior, it’s pretty cramped, especially when you have to carefully navigate around their three cats. yes, there are cats walking around and lying on the counter that you can pet (though there are signs warning you not to hug them or pick them up), but why you’d want to sully your hands with cat right before using those same hands to eat is beyond me. i’m fine with the cats, but it’s just kind of annoying having to be super careful not to trod on them or their food bowls lying on the ground and on the already narrow stairway.
if you end up getting seated upstairs, you don’t even get any menus. you have to instead stare at a menu on the wall and then slowly make your way down the stairs again to place your order. there is no service in this place to speak of. someone will bring you your food, and if you ever want anything you’ll have to go back down yourself to ask for it. even worse is that because there’s no proper seating arrangement afterwards, you can’t reserve your seat unless you leave something behind when you go down to order. in my case, i hadn’t realized this so when i came back up after placing my order, i saw that someone had taken my seat so i had to squeeze in between two people elsewhere. not cool.
all in all, i’d say that if you want tasty burgers, you’d honestly be better off getting something from your preferred fast food joint like McD’s or Mos. the only reason to come here is if you want something healthier or if you’re...
Read moreJust visited TakeOut Burger & Cafe at the 忠孝新生/Xinsheng-S Rd location — a cozy, casual spot with good vibes and tasty food. The burger I got was juicy and well-seasoned, and the bun was buttery and held up nicely (no soggy mess). The classic, Mexican and salsa burgers all deliver distinct, balanced flavors. Fries were crispy and satisfying.
What I really liked: friendly service, nice ambience, and cute touch of having resident cats roaming around—makes the place feel charming and relaxed.
What could be better: portions are moderate, not huge, so if you’re super hungry you might want to order sides or go for a combo. Some might find the price a little steep for what you get.
Overall a solid choice for a burger in Taipei....
Read moreCASH ONLY. Limited seats. Small and dark space. The place was very cramped and it also had cats everywhere which was a little irritating, I have allergies to cat fur so it was difficult to eat. Just felt very unclean and smelt like cats and their pee everywhere. The burger itself was actually quite tasty. However it was difficult to customize and they do not grill their onions which I find strange. Their burgers a la carte are Nt$260 so it's a little pricey. I will try their other location. The fried chicken was ok and their house tea was watered down. no special sauces to dip the chicken or food in only tabasco, you have to pay another extra 30 for spicy mayo. idk haha....
