The train/bus conveyor belt concept was interesting and cool at first but at the end of the meal, everything felt like a scam. There are several options to choose from depending on the type of meats you want and the time limit. Since it was our first time, we opted for the cheaper option of 600NT for 50 mins (this option does not include beef tongue or dessert). The server told us we could order as many times as we want but limit to four items per order. Once our time is up we will have 15 mins to finish everything on our table or else we get charged 100NT per unfinished plate. It all sounded okay and manageable until you realize the grill was pretty small and the fire only had three settings, the highest wasn’t even hot enough to cook a thin slice of meat in a few mins.. the timer started immediately and there was only 35 mins out of the proclaimed 50 mins meal time. The food came out at a decent speed but definitely not fast enough to help customers gauge how much more to order. Because of the 35 mins time limit we kept feeling the pressure and need to eat fast which already made the meal not enjoyable.. honestly my party and I were sweating while we were eating.. at one point we asked the server how we were supposed to cook all the meat with this type of heat setting and was told we should put less on the grill and space it out for airflow.. sure but the grill is so small! (See picture attached for size of grill).. How would we have enough time to cook AND eat within 50 mins.. once the 35 mins was up we still had so many uncooked meats on the grill and the server came and asked if we wanted to upgrade to the 75 mins meal plan because we had 2 mins left and she didn’t think we could finish by then.. yes.. OBVIOUSLY.. were we supposed to eat raw meat? The server then said if we don’t upgrade then we will be charged around 1000NT for the unfinished plates (which we fully intended on eating still if not for the slow fire).. so yes we agreed to upgrade but that only gave us an extra 25 mins to cook and eat.. obviously still not enough.. I ended up having to eat the buttered sweet potato uncooked to avoid penalty. In sum, this dining experience was extremely unpleasant and we all left sweaty and not even...
Read moreIt was not a pleasant experience. Firstly, the so-called A4 Japanese Wagyu tasted even worse than the Australian or American varieties from other restaurants. Secondly, the food delivery was delayed multiple times. Even though the waitress was nice and granted me an extra 10 minutes, I still ended up with nothing to grill for about half an hour due to the piling-up of orders. In the last 20 minutes, I received a stockpile of meat, which felt a bit rushed. The only redeeming factor is that the servers are generally amiable and willing to help. However, this is definitely a one-time-only...
