I recently had the pleasure of dining at Kalypso Restaurant, located within the beautiful Colosseum Hotel in Tanzania, and I must say it was an exceptional experience. From the moment I stepped into the restaurant, I was greeted with warm smiles and impeccable service, setting the tone for a wonderful dining experience. The ambiance of Kalypso Restaurant is simply captivating. The elegant decor, soothing lighting, and comfortable seating create a relaxed and inviting atmosphere. Whether you're looking for a romantic dinner or a delightful meal with friends and family, Kalypso Restaurant caters to all occasions. The menu is a delightful fusion of local and international cuisines, offering a wide array of options to suit every palate. I was impressed by the freshness of the ingredients and the attention to detail in every dish. The chef's expertise was evident in the presentation, and each plate looked like a work of art. Now, let's talk about the sushi. Oh, the sushi! It was a gastronomic delight that has set the bar high for all future sushi experiences. The freshness of the fish and ingredients used in each roll was evident in every bite. The skilled sushi chefs crafted each piece with precision and artistry, creating masterpieces that were not only visually stunning but also bursting with flavor. Whether you're a sushi enthusiast or trying it for the first time, Kalypso Restaurant's sushi selection is a true delight for the taste buds. The waitstaff at Kalypso Restaurant were exceptional. They were attentive, knowledgeable about the menu offerings, and ready to make recommendations based on individual preferences. The service was prompt, yet not rushed, allowing guests to enjoy their meals at a leisurely pace. Furthermore, the cleanliness and hygiene standards at Kalypso Restaurant were top-notch. I felt comfortable and safe, which is essential when dining out. To sum up, Kalypso Restaurant at Colosseum Hotel is a hidden gem in Tanzania. It offers a perfect blend of delectable cuisine, impeccable service, charming ambiance, and breathtaking views. Whether you're a local resident or a traveler exploring Tanzania, I highly recommend visiting Kalypso Restaurant for an unforgettable culinary journey. It's an experience that will leave you with fond memories and a desire to return for more of their delightful offerings.

**Rating: ★☆☆☆☆** I am utterly disappointed with the lack of service and stock at Kalypso. Upon entering, we ordered a Smirnoff Black Ice, shisha, and a blonde ale draught beer. The waiter informed us that Smirnoff Black Ice was out of stock, the shisha guy would start in 10 minutes, and there was no stock of blonde ale either. We specifically came for the pork ribs and the Kalypso sushi platter. After waiting for 15 minutes, we were told there was no stock of pork ribs and no Kalypso sushi platter. We settled for the Tokyo platter and a coated prawns starter. The waiter returned again to inform us that there were no coated prawns either. The only available starter was crispy chicken. Unbelievable – everything was out of stock. The food had no flavor; the chicken tasted like it was microwaved, and the sushi was awful. After a long travel into Tanzania, we were starving and hadn't eaten anything before. This was the worst food I've had in years. Kalypso seriously needs to address their chefs and lack of stock. After 45 minutes, I ordered shisha, and once again, I was told the guy would start in 10 minutes. An hour later, it was still "10 minutes." We paid, left the change, and just left. I will never return or recommend Kalypso if you want good food or even food that is in stock.

For a quiet dinner or just a few drinks or an out with friends, this is an ideal place you can be. It is wonderful, well articulated and good service The staff pay attention to detail and the food is amazing. Had sushi and it was fulfilling The music is chilly and for a Sunday evening it was everything that we could ask for. The speedy service and waiters kept coming to check on us, making sure that everything was alright. The food order didn't take longer, it was precisely on time. We had two different types of red wine, and they were both amazing Chardonnay wines. Above all, it was a peaceful outdoorsy place. If you have never been there, be sure to go and check the place. You won't regret your time there.

Restaurant Kalypso which belongs to the hotel has so bad or tasteless with probably too old ingredients and spices and too little eating customers because everything is simply bad. I also ordered a Kilimanjaro beer with probably residues of washing-up liquid in it because the taste was terrible, I advertised and they looked at me like I was intellectually disabled. I ordered a glass and it was milkshake already when they served. I tried to order 2 glasses of champagne 5 minutes into 24 on New Year's Eve but was told by a Manager in the bar that they only accept orders for whole bottles, I then ordered 2 glasses of Campari orange juice and was told that the orange juice was out...I gave up. There was a stop in the shower drain so you quickly stood in other people's skin and hair residue so very disgusting actually. The management said they were sorry but they were doing it to repair the damage so It's very hard to call Colosseum el Kalypso a hotel or Restaurant an average hostel delivers better so my tip is choose another... there is no shortage of...
