Mamboz SizGrill - Upanga — Restaurant in Dar es-Salaam

I had great experience with Mamboz twice. The first time I ordered spring pilipili chicken, masala fries/chips and hakka vegetarian noodles. All were delicious. The quantity was large, I got three meals out of it and it cost 28500 Tzs.

The restuarant was extra nice. It was my second night in Tanzania and I could not order through Jumia Food since I did not have Tanzanian number. I contacted the restuarant through Google and they provided me with a WhatsApp number so I can order. The order was here a few minutes later. I really appreciate this level of service as I had no other option of getting food at that time of night since I didn't have a phone, couldn't get Uber and people told me it was unsafe to walk at night.

My second experience was when I visited the restuarant. I ordered Chicken Skela which was 15000 Tzs for four pieces of leg/thigh. I was able to get three meals out of it and chicken was juicy even on the fifth day after reheating.

I think it is a good place to eat as quality of food is good and prices...

1.Well i had asked for a chicken pousine but i said mild,so unfortunately i am being served just fried chicked placed on a plate and chips aside,no presentation no sauce nothing, i was shocked so i asked the waitress is this really chicken poussin?then she brought me a sauce but i was not happy with the food as i have been having amazing chicken pousins in other restaurants and i have never gone wrong but this time it was very disappointing. The waitress was never welcoming, and neither asked us if we wanted to add something or what,no hospitality at all, just so lame 3.okay we all know daresalam has electricity issues,light went ,generator had issues, but the restaurant had a very lame backup,no energy lights, and they barely had enough candles. Ummmh, i wanted to have a good time with my family, but surely i was just not content that day,,this is the reality sorrry for my honesty, but...

The place is a little bit worn out and not kept clean especially enter the kitchen is very dirty. A lot of things are kept there and employees eating at the back sitting on the floor etc. Very bad impression. I suggest major renovation on the kitchen and entrance side. However the sitting area and the food is excellent. The service could be improved by allocating the many employees specific tables to take care. Once we ordered and got our food nobody came to us to ask if everything is ok or we want anything else. Many of the employees just watched from far. We could not order any fish or seafood worrying about food poisoning. We have been to mamboz masaki and mwenge. They are the best in dar. See my other review of masaki I gave 5 star. I hope the owner will take these comments positively to attract not only locals but also...
