Paje by Night Restaurant — Restaurant in Unguja

Paje by Night is definitely one of my favourite restaurants in the area! The atmosphere is quiet and cozy, the staff is always friendly and the food menu is so broad that can satisfy all your desires. They have a big selection of startes, salads, soups, pizza, fish and meat platter and swahili local curries. Because of this variety of choice, my friends and I ended up eating there quite a few times and we were never disappointed.

I love eating fish so, if I were to give an advice, I would suggest to try anything among the seafood platters, they are all delicious and they all come with a side of your choice. If you are looking for something healthy and fulfilling, I can recomment the tuna-avo salad, it is very tasty, the portion is big and the tuna portion in it is quite generous, so believe me, you will not be hungry afterwards! If you choose to eat fish, don't forget to combine it with a glass (or a bottle) of white wine on the menu!

I am really affectioned to this place, I go back there every time I have the chance to and I totally reccommend it it to anyone who wishes to spend a quiet evening in a neat location enjoying tasty...

So, unfortunately, the review score suffers here due to the nature of another customer, who was allowed to be aggressive, arrogant, and absolutely spoiled towards us. We had arrived 2 hours earlier and asked may we watch the Liverpool match. The very nice barman put it on TV and we ordered drinks and food. Soon after the match had started, a 'man' arrived who decided that he would now take the TV to watch another match. When we refused, he became aggressive and extremely rude. It got to the stage where I felt intimidated. At this stage, I decided to make a complaint at the bar. And hence this is the reason for the 1 star. The staff did not care, unfortunately. I might add that the original bar man who was so good to us was not there at this time. As I realised that nothing would happen, we had to pay our bill and leave die to not feeling safe. I might also add that this 'man' was not Tanzanian. So I guess the lesson here is that your safety from other customers is an issue and should be taken more seriously...
