Yesterday, my girlfriend and I were invited to have breakfast at The Garden. We had received a message from the team via social media, and it felt so welcoming that we decided to head over and enjoy a morning meal at the restaurant. And we were anything but disappointed.
We ordered the avocado sandwich with egg and the French toast. We have to say, the French toast was on a completely different level from anything we’ve had before. We would recommend it to anyone who wants to try a proper, original French toast. We’re giving it a full 100 out of 100 points. Everything about it was just right. It was fluffy, the vanilla ice cream on top wasn’t too sweet, and it came with honey so you could sweeten it yourself. The caramelisation on the toast was unique and added a special touch.
The whole team was very friendly and took excellent care of us during our visit. Alongside the breakfast, we had a freshly pressed carrot juice, a delicious coffee, and a tea. Overall, the breakfast was a solid 10 out of 10.
While we were there, we also had a short chat with the owner, who introduced us to one of the weekly specials that’s not listed on the menu. These specials change every week and are only shared with guests who are present at the restaurant. It was fermented cabbage, if we’re naming it correctly, and came in two variations. One version was mixed with carrots and spices, the other was just the cabbage, fermented with traditional Eastern European herbs.
We agreed with the owner to come back for dinner later that evening. Around 8:30 pm, we returned and were once again warmly welcomed and very well looked after. In addition to our dinner order, we were served two glasses of Chardonnay, which was a great choice and paired perfectly with the meal.
I ordered mashed potatoes and the chicken schnitzel. The schnitzel was cooked sous-vide and had a beautifully crispy coating. It was very tasty and tender throughout. While my personal preference is for a schnitzel prepared Viennese-style, that didn’t take away from how well this dish was done. The meat was perfectly cooked all the way through.
My girlfriend had the wild salmon, pan-seared with teriyaki sauce and mushrooms, along with the fermented cabbage. Everything was delicious and clearly cooked to a very high standard.
The staff’s friendliness was exceptional and not something you often see in Phuket. For all the food and drinks, we paid just 660 Baht, which honestly blew us away considering the outstanding value.
We give our entire experience the highest possible rating and will gladly come back anytime—especially for that French toast at breakfast.
After we got home, the marketing team even sent us a message on Instagram to thank us for our visit. We were really happy to receive it. All in all, the visit to The Garden was a great experience.
Thank you for your...
Read moreAfter a year away I’m back at ‘The Garden’ to see if the food and ambience has remained at the high level of my first visit. Well, it didn’t disappoint.. I had the Smoked Salmon Cream Cheese on Toast and my friends had the Picanha Steak and Seafood Carnivore plate. OMG each dish worthy of a photo and the taste didn’t disappoint.
The consistency, presentation, taste and well proportioned plate sizes make this a must when visiting Phuket.
I’ll be back.. :-)
What a fabulous find.. My friend and I dined here for brunch after reading the great reviews, I’m always a bit hesitant when there are so many 5 stars, but after dining I can say they are well deserved. I had the Picanha cream cheese steak on toast which was delicious and my friend had the Goats cheese & avocado smash which was equally as good. The coffees were surprisingly on point & as a coffee lover I was very impressed, equal to my favourite cafe in Sydney. On top of that the ambience was devine and the attention to detail in all aspect’s impressive. The staff were attentive, friendly & very accommodating. All in all far more than a traditional cafe. If you’re in Phuket this place is a rare find. I’ll be back Couldn’t help myself went back and had the Vietnamese Lemongrass Chicken Fillet after seeing another customer being served the dish. OMG, it was soo good I had it with the noodles which were the thin type & delicious. The cost was only 150B which is rediculously cheap for the style of establishment I was in. I went from a 1000B dinner last night which was average to a 150B lunch… Huge difference, anyway if you happen to have the good fortune to drop into this gem then I highly recommend...
Read moreWe got lucky and found this gem by chance on our last day during our 2 weeks trip in Thailand. It is the best dining experience we have had by far. Overall, I had been very disappointed from food, to hospitality services across Thailand especially from the hype everyone's been talking about. But this place is different. Not to mention, we begin to miss other non Thai or non Asian food. The menu at The Garden is interesting, it is a mix of Western and Thai cuisine. My son was so happy with his Double Cheeseburger. While I liked the Truffle Fries and the Koah Soi Kai, my family also enjoyed the classic Spaghetti Bolognese (it is a perfectly al dante pasta dish!) We also had pancakes and a traditional Thai dessert to wrap it up. After days of rather unpleasant experiences in multiple places, this dining experience felt like some fresh air. You can tell that the owner had put it a lot of her love and thought into this place. I was told she's a fellow Aussie Thai, which explained a lot why the place is so different. Thank you so much for such a wonderful...
