This place was really hard for me to review as everything was all over the map. I got the last smoothie #6 on the smoothie page and it was fantastic, no ice etc and was thick enough that it actually took me a while to finish unlike 99% of the smoothies I consume. The fresh spring rolls were an absolute disaster, I mean REALLY bad. The massaman curry with brown rice was loaded with veggies (mainly potatoes) and tasty, though it could’ve had more curry. The portion of brown rice that came with it was larger than average and cooked to perfection. Before I mention the veggie khao soi, I must mention the acoustics downstairs. Sound echos super bad downstairs with those cement walls and there was a bunch of kids screaming, as well as another table speaking quite loudly, and I know this isn’t the fault of the restaurant, but bc of the way the room absorbs sound it nearly gave me a panic attack. It was so loud and intrusive that I had to jet out of there upon paying or I was not going to be okay. Finally, the khao soi. I’ve been on a bit if a khao soi bender this week and have had a veggie khao soi every day for the last 5 days as you can see from my previous reviews. In order of preference, #1 Pakorn’s Kitchen, #2 Good Times #3 Aum #4 9 Siblings. It was tasty, but with so much good veg khao soi out there sone of them are...
Read moreWow, there’s not enough words to describe how much I love this place. The food is amazing, the staff is amazing, the people are amazing, the vibes are amazing, and the prices are amazing. My husband and I come here AT LEAST once a week. This is our favorite vegetarian restaurant in Chiang Mai. I was never a Khao Soi fan until I had it here….. I can literally eat in 3-4 days in a row, which I have. 😅 BEST KHAO SOI EVER! They have the best vegan dumplings as well.
Some of my favorites are: Khao Soi Sweet Basil Fried Rice Morning Glory w/Tofu Chinese Kale w/Tofu Tea Leaf Salad Tofu w/tomato & Onion Nam Prik Ong
Their food is delicious. It’s made with fresh, quality ingredients. Most of the ingredients are organic and fresh from their farm. You can really taste the difference, especially how they prepare it. The food is cut and cooked perfectly. It still has a good bite to it where you can still taste the vegetable.
The owner is very friendly and makes you feel like home. This place has become our second home, literally. We come with friends to eat lunch but usually always stay longer, playing card games, and end up eating dinner there as well.
I couldn’t ask for a...
Read moreA remarkable vegetarian restaurant off the beaten path in Chiang Mai. It’s a family-run, two story home restaurant tucked into a neighborhood and only accessible by walking down a residential street. It serves a multitude of vegan/vegetarian dishes, fresh juices and smoothies, and homemade deserts. We sat upstairs on the floor mats. There is also downstairs seating with benches and chairs. The room we ate in was warm with only a fan circulating, but every now and then a breeze would swoop in to cool us off a bit.
To be honest, we had a feast! We ordered the fried tofu with mushrooms, tomatoes, and onions, the vegan pad Thai, glass noodles with mushrooms, the massaman curry, blue sticky rice with mango, and a ginger honey iced tea. Each dish was served hot, with the freshest ingredients, and the perfect balance of subtlety and kick in the flavors.
If you need anything while you’re upstairs, you either have to walk downstairs or call down for assistance, as they’re usually busy downstairs preparing the awesome, healthy meals.
If you’re into healthy eating and looking for a change from all the pork and skewers, drop into Aum’s restaurant and treat your body to some...
