Chiang Mai Gate is one of the four main gates that surround the Old City of Chiang Mai, which was built in 1296 by King Mangrai as the capital of the Lanna Kingdom. The gate is located on the south side of the wall, facing the Ping River. The gate was originally made of wood and earth, but was later reconstructed with bricks and cement. The gate has a distinctive archway with a tiled roof and a small pavilion on top. The gate is also decorated with flowers and lanterns, especially during festivals and celebrations

Chiang Mai Gate is not only a historical landmark, but also a lively and vibrant area that attracts locals and tourists alike. Every morning, there is a fresh market near the gate, where you can find a variety of fruits, vegetables, meats, seafood, and other local delicacies. The market is open from 5 am to 11 am, and it is a great place to experience the authentic Thai cuisine and culture. Every evening, there is a night market near the gate, where you can find a range of street food, souvenirs, clothes, accessories, and entertainment. The night market is open from 6 pm to 11 pm, and it is a great place to enjoy the nightlife and atmosphere of Chiang Mai

Chiang Mai Gate is also close to many other attractions in Chiang Mai, such as the Wat Chedi Luang temple, the Tha Phae Gate, the Night Bazaar, and the Sunday Walking Street. You can easily walk or take a red truck or a tuk-tuk to these places from the gate. Chiang Mai Gate is a must-see spot if you want to explore the history, culture, and charm...
