Chang Cooking & Restaurant — Restaurant in Chiang Mai Province

We did the morning cooking class. Long story: it was not what we expected. The morning started with a visit to the local market, but we didn't buy anything and got little to no explanation. We just literally walked behind the chef and that´s it. He didn't even buy something so all together it was a really weird experience. After that we went to the cooking school, but that was weird as well. Everyone can choose from a good variation of dishes (you can choose 4 in total), but there was only one chef for 12 guests. So the whole time everyone was just waiting while some of us received instructions. It was sooo much waiting ... The cooking itself is a disappointment as well; you literally throw things together on comand, and just stir a little. That´s truly it. Not much explanation and no room at all for individuality. We didn't even got to cut up our own vegetables. Everything was already prepared, we just had to throw everything in a pan. If you already spenned some time in Thailand, the food isn't even good. It tastes quite cheap and some of us even didn't feel good in the stomach afterwards. I chose the morning class which is 3 hours duration. They picked me up the hotel and took me to the local market tour where we could buy food ingredients that I will be cooking in the class. The instructors is very knowledge they explained how to choose vegetables and grocery things for my menu. Once I arrived the place i realized that the kitchen is clean and tidy. They professionally taught me how to cook Thai food from food preparation till stir fry in the wok. There was a lot of laugh and fun during the class, and I'm even managed to finish cooking 4 dishes. I went there around 5 pm, but didn’t know it was a cooking school in mornings/afternoon. The restaurant opens at night time, and I could easily say is the best place to eat in Chiang Mai, and one of the best places in all Thailand. Food is DELICIOUS, the owner is so kind and friendly.
