I had dinner at this small roadside restaurant which has three sections including a small bar. I am not sure whether this is one business, or they are just working together to provide good service to customers. There is an undercover seating area next to where they prepare grilled fish. The staff is very friendly, very helpful and the atmosphere is relaxing. I had grilled fish with papaya salad (Isaan style). It looks like they also have grilled chicken, but I have not yet tried this.
Most of the staff speaks English. The lady (I assume she is the owner) who prepares the food is a very nice person with a smile always on her face. I had the feeling that it is a harmonious team having fun working together. That makes your dining experience more relaxing...

I had pad see ew which was absolutely delicious and to cater for my wife's fish sauce and shrimp paste allergy the kitchen prepared a larb gai accordingly using soy sauce and lemon juice as a substitute. Read moreMaiphai is situated just a few meters from our hotel Chiangmai Gate Hotel. So it was an easy choice to try this nice looking place out. Also we had enjoyed the live music when passing by. We were not disappointed. I had a very good massaman curry, my wife had chicken with vegetables, and our daughters had panaeng curry and spaghetti carbonara.
