Crossroad Rock Bar — Restaurant in Chiang Mai Province

Just one more rock bar playing Western Covers? Well, so many do that in Chiang Mai. But this place is REALLY special. The first, very young band starting around 9 pm was one of the biggest livesurprises for me, who is not easy to convince cause of my background and hey, they were absolutely awesome. Very good female rock singer and her young guitarplayer, just 17, had a very good voice, too, sounding like an old rockanimak and on top of voice and flawless guitar a rhythm section, which was absolutely brilliant. They are working on developping own original songs, so maybe I will tell you more in 1 or 2 years. The second band was more experienced, just played the typical Rockhits with enthusiasm, never forgetting to take care of effects, but not always coharent in their tempi. But anyway, the guitar was nice and it was great fun, too. Very friendly stuff, reasonable prices, absolutely worth the way to the highway. Go there, if you wanna here great live rock covers, you won't regret...

The service is fine. But that’s not the issue. I ordered two large Chang beers. The menu clearly stated that one large Chang beer costs 100 baht, so I ordered based on that price. However, when it came time to pay, the price had mysteriously increased to 130 baht. The price wasn’t increased due to additional service charges or VAT—it was simply raised, essentially scamming customers.

Make sure to double-check the prices when ordering at this place. I even asked if the price went up because I requested an ice cup, but they said ice is free. So where did the extra charge come from?

Always remember, there are places that will try to rip you off whenever they get the chance. Even if you get a receipt, it won’t matter if...

This sports bar is comfortably set up, with both outdoor seating and indoor areas that include a pool table. Further inside, there’s a rock music stage and an indoor bar. The band played some impressive rock hits from the 90s. If you’re not ready for loud music, it’s a good idea to sit outside where you can still enjoy the sound from a distance.

We only had beer and soda, so we weren’t particularly impressed by the drinks. Service was quick and efficient.

The restroom is located outside the bar, up a staircase to the second floor. The stairs are quite steep and a bit dark, so be careful...
