Forest Bake — Restaurant in Chiang Mai Province

Gorgeous. Delicious bakery, cafe, and restaurant; staff was attentive and pleasant. Would have loved to give it 5 stars, but here’s why I didn’t: I wanted something from the bakery and the restaurant but had to order and pay separately. Not a big deal, but would have been much more convenient and nice if I was just able to do them both together. I picked up a blueberry scone from the bakery and took it to my table in the cafe. The bigger issue: I ordered one egg 20thb and 2 bacon 60thb from the menu. The server asked how I wanted my egg- fried or scrambled; I said scrambled. My bf ordered the same. Food came; it was lovely. It seemed like a very large portion for one scrambled egg. Then I got the bill. I was charged 60thb for my egg, and when I asked why, when I only ordered one scrambled egg, she told me that they couldn’t make just one scrambled egg, they had to make three, and charged me thusly. In my opinion she should have told me this when I ordered my breakfast; my bf and I could have split one order of scrambled eggs instead of getting 6 without knowing it! I mean, obv I knew something wasn’t right when I saw the portion, and perhaps I should have brought it up then and there, but it was delicious and I was having a nice time and the staff was so nice. After getting a separated detailed bill and discussing it with the server, there was no apology and no offer to discount. I paid and left. Unfortunate. Everything else was wonderful, and I would like to go back, but I will definitely be more cautious when ordering and ask more...

This was a very surprisingly pleasant find. Was recommended by my friends back in Singapore, as the baker who set this up is supposedly Singaporean. It's one of those pretty places great for social media, but at the same time, the pastries and cakes are of very good quality make, which a guy like myself appreciate very much, on top of satisfying what the female partner likes.

Do get the cheesecake and the iced Americano, as they go very well together. New York sticky buns is also quite amazing. Double brownies are very thick and gets a little too much after a while, but the Americano washes it down very well. All these are their signatures so do try them. Make it into a set for an extra cost, and you get fruits and ice cream on the side.

Do sit nearer to the restaurant, as the mosquitoes may annoy you quite a bit like...

Another cafe and another almost perfect experience… this time the coffee was great but the bakery items were delicious. I had carrot cake and it was YUM!

Unfortunately we did find the staff to be kind of lazy and they used the frustrating buzzer system. It seems like they all follow each other with this noisy buzzer system that is really great in a busy place. When we are the only people in the cafe it’s kinda lazy for the staff not to drop the coffee at the table. Especially when collecting it involves walking double the distance that the staff would need to walk (the coffee staff area backs right onto the restaurant - the staff should deliver the coffee).

Service should include an introduction, the full service offering and then a pleasant goodbye… this place lacked the important...
