Wanlamun Rim Nam — Restaurant in Chiang Mai Province

For a hot chocolate , caramel late, western style breakfast they charged us 539 Baht. Now I don’t have a problem for paying that price if the food is good. But and his the butt. I have eaten alot all over Thailand in cafe settings that serve western style breakfast and this quality was very average. My partner said their hot chocolate was nice but I found my ice coffee tasting more like water than coffee. The breakfast fried egg it’s a fried egg and you can’t get that wrong, the hash browns were nice the bacon was over cooked, the ham was nice the sausage was a hot dog, the bread was nice that came with it, I was not a fan of the mushroom, tomato was tomato but really the western breakfast was not worth 300 baht. Maybe 150 baht for that quality of food. The dinner menu I check out and it looked nice so they have a great lunch and dinner menu it seems but their breakfast options were very very limited. My family and I went there this afternoon and had lunch there. The food was not bad but my God the service. The staff are like unexperienced and never pay attention to customers. The worst was when my partner asked for pamarsan cheese for the spaghetti. The waiter said we don't have cheese because it is Thai style!! No apologise and he walked away after he said it. Well, the one my partner ordered was a western style spaghetti with bacon or ham. So it make sense it can go with cheese! Then I walked to him and said you better go to the kitchen and get cheese. Then another waiter came to our table and said the same thing to me but with a even worse attitude. I said to him , I don't care it's Thai style or not. My partner wanted some cheese with his spaghetti. He said ....same .... Thai style... Overlooking river. Higher end restuarant. Outdoor seating available. We came here around 8pm with no reservation. We called ahead and they had a table available for us so we arrived by grab taxi. Our table was outdoor overlooking the river. Very nice as it was December so not too hot sitting outside. We ordered a starter platter, a salmon salad, deep fried fish cakes, and for main dish we had steamed fish and added steamed rice. Well presented dishes. All the dishes were very good. I like the steamed fish as fillet and it was a good sized portion. The salmon salad was also very good. We spent THB1,200 for the 2 of us. They include 10% service charge for dinner.
