Awe's Cafe — Restaurant in Chiang Rai Province

I wish I could give more stars! I came in just for a quick bite and ended up staying way longer because the vibe was that good. Started with some nachos, grabbed a beer, and later tried a local dish with rice and cashews, everything was delicious, fresh, and all of that at the best price! Worth mentioning is that what made it truly special were the people. Awe herself and the staff were incredibly kind and welcoming. We chatted, laughed, and they gave me some local tips I could really use, including local markets in Chiang Rai with traditional music and dances and less famous but really beautiful temples. Fake reviews? There’s so many positive reviews about this place, like the best khao soi and whatnot. And the khao soi was 4/10, more like red curry than khao soi. Also, greens were missing and so many other things to improve 🥲 I was expecting more for 120 baht As for ambiance - there was a lot of people around smoking - be aware if you dont like passive cancer. Or maybe there’s just too many first time tourists coming to this place so they don’t know what’s good what’s not 🥲 anyway, there’s much more to explore here! P.S. the owners of the place are very salty for negative reviews, also a point...

So I’m walk. Lady says welcome me. It’s lovely. It’s the thing. So I’m eat. Khao Soi. You know it. I’m never eat before. So I’m first not like one bite. Many foreign flavor to my tongues simultaneously. But I’m hungry, you know it. So I’m keep eat it. Funny thing happenstance. I’m eat each bite better than the last bite I’m eat.
